Robert Davidson (Robbie Davidson), is a Latvian rugby union player who plays at Wharfedale in National League 2 North. [1] [2]
He began his career at North Ribblesdale RUFC where his father played, at 18 years old he moved to Wharfedale RUFC. He spent 4 years at Sheffield Tigers before rejoining Wharfedale. [3]
On 25 May 2019, Davidson overtook Vladimir Nikonov (31 caps, 169 points) as Latvias top points scorer. [4] [5]
Davidson is one of four brothers playing for Latvia, [6] they qualify through their grandfather, Helmuts Francmanis, who was born in Latvia. He fled from the communist invasion to England as a teenager in 1944. [7]
Davidson is an avid cricket player playing at Settle Cricket Club. [8]
Otley is a market town and civil parish at a bridging point on the River Wharfe, in the City of Leeds metropolitan borough in West Yorkshire, England. Mark Bedworth, known locally as Bedders, is a Rugby Union Footballer who is currently player Coach at Westoe RFC. Mark Bedworth was born in Durham City in 1982 and attended Bow Preparatory School before moving onto Durham School where he is now a teacher of Physical Education. Having completed his A-levels, he continued to university in York. An excellent points kicker he became one of the all-time top scorers in National League 2 North and National League 1 with over 2,000 points scored between the two divisions. Andrew Baggett is an English rugby union footballer who plays at fly-half. Currently coach at Middlesbrough, Baggett is best known for his spells with Wharfedale and Blaydon where he became the National League 1 all-time top scorer with 1,707 points. As well as playing club rugby Baggett has represented Yorkshire and Durham in the County Championships, and was part of the Yorkshire squad that won the Bill Beaumont Cup in 2008.
