Low is an American indie rock group from Duluth, Minnesota, formed in 1993. The group is composed of founding members Alan Sparhawk and Mimi Parker, joined by Steve Garrington. Previous bassists for the band include John Nichols from 1993 to 1994, Zak Sally from 1994 to 2005, and Matt Livingston from 2005 to 2008.
The Krankies are a Scottish comedy duo who enjoyed success as a cabaret act in the 1970s and on television in the 1980s, featuring in their own television shows and making pop records. Since this period, they have also regularly appeared in pantomime. The duo comprises wife Janette Tough and her husband Ian. As the Krankies they portray schoolboy Wee Jimmy Krankie (Janette), and paternal figure Ian Krankie (Ian), though in their comedy act they also portray other characters. Beginning in the 1990s, they regularly appeared as The Krankies in episodes of the BBC comedy series French and Saunders.

Kranky is an American independent record label in Chicago, Illinois. It was started in 1993 by Bruce Adams and Joel Leoschke. It houses predominantly experimental music artists, often branching into or inspired by ambient, rock, electronic or psychedelic music. Their first release was Labradford's 1993 debut album Prazision. Adams left the label in 2006, after which Leoschke continued running it, with the help of Brian Foote of Kranky band Nudge.

He is currently head of the Environmental management department at Lincoln University in New Zealand.
Loscil is the electronic/ambient music project of Scott Morgan, from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The name Loscil is taken from the "looping oscillator" function (loscil) in Csound. Scott Morgan was also the drummer for the Vancouver indie band Destroyer.

The albums have been accompanied by short films often making use of slow motion photography, arranged using "dream logic".
Dissolve is a collaborative musical project between experimental guitarists Chris Heaphy and Roy Montgomery. The two musicians formed a bond over an interest in film soundtracks and creating mood pieces, as opposed to performing in a rock band. They began recording with each other in 1993 after Montgomery's former band Dadamah parted ways. They released two albums under the name Dissolve, That That Is ... Is (Not) in 1995 and Third Album for the Sun in 1997. Heaphy and Montgomery collaborated a final time on the album True, released in 1999.
