Robert Mateja (born 5 October 1974) is a Polish former ski jumper who competed from 1992 to 2008. His best individual World Cup finishes were fifth in Harrachov (large hill) on 14 December 1996, and fifth again in Sapporo on 28 January 2001. His best team finish was third in Villach on 9 December 2001.
In the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, Mateja's best finishes were fifth in the large hill individual event in Trondheim (1997) and fifth again in the large hill team event in Sapporo (2007). His best finishes at the Winter Olympics were fifth in the large hill team event (2006) and 20th in the large hill individual event (1998). In the Ski Flying World Championships he finished eighth in the 2004 team event and 19th in the 2006 individual event. At Continental Cup level he scored three individual victories in 2003, 2004 and 2007.
Mateja retired from competitive sport in 2008 to work as an assistant coach of Polish national ski jumping team.
Adam Henryk Małysz is a Polish former ski jumper and rally driver. He competed in ski jumping from 1995 to 2011 and is one of the most successful athletes in the history of the sport. His many accomplishments include four World Cup titles, four individual Winter Olympic medals, four individual World Championship gold medals, 39 individual World Cup competition wins, 96 World Cup podiums, and being the first male ski jumper to win three consecutive World Cup titles. He is also a winner of the Four Hills Tournament, the only three-time winner of the Nordic Tournament, and a former ski flying world record holder.
Roar Ljøkelsøy is a Norwegian former ski jumper who competed from 1993 to 2010, and twice finished runner up in the World Cup.
Masahiko Harada is a Japanese former ski jumper. He is best remembered for a meltdown at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, which cost the Japanese national team a victory, and his subsequent redemption at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano; the latter of which led to him being affectionately called "Happy Harada".
Anssi Einar Koivuranta is a retired Finnish ski jumper and former Nordic combined skier, best known for winning the 2008–09 FIS Nordic Combined World Cup. He won the gold medal in the 4 × 5 km team event and a bronze medal in the 15 km Gundersen race at the 2007 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Sapporo. After winning a Ski Jumping World Cup competition in Innsbruck on 4 January 2014, Koivuranta became the first ever athlete in history of ski jumping to win an event in both Nordic combined and the ski jumping World Cup.
The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2007 took place 22 February – 4 March 2007 in Sapporo, Japan. It was the second time this city has hosted these championships, having previously done so in the 1972 Winter Olympics. Sapporo was selected as venue by vote at the 43rd FIS World Congress in Portorož, Slovenia, on 6 June 2002. It also marked the third time the championships were hosted outside Europe in a year that did not coincide with the Winter Olympics; it was the first championship held in Asia. The ski jumping team normal hill event was not held, as it had been in 2005.
Alexander Herr is a German former ski jumper who competed 1993 to 2006, then came out of retirement in 2009 to compete in the 2010 Winter Olympics. He won a bronze medal in the normal at the Junior World Ski Championships in Harrachov in 1993 and won two medals at the 2001 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti with a gold in the team large hill and a bronze in the team normal hill events. He also finished third in the team event at the FIS Ski-Flying World Championships 2006.
Guido "Totti" Landert is a Swiss ski jumper who competed from 2005 to 2008. At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, he finished seventh in the team large hill, 37th in the individual large hill, and 48th in the individual normal hill events.
Gregor Schlierenzauer is an Austrian former ski jumper who competed from 2006 to 2021. He is one of the most successful ski jumpers of all time, having won the Ski Jumping World Cup overall title, the Four Hills Tournament, and Nordic Tournament twice each; the Ski Flying World Cup overall title three times; as well as four medals at the Winter Olympics, twelve at the Ski Jumping World Championships, and five at the Ski Flying World Championships.

Piotr Paweł Żyła is a Polish ski jumper. He is a member of the national team and competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. He is the 2021 and 2023 World Champion on the normal hill, a bronze medalist of 2017 World Championships in individual large hill event, 2017 World Champion and a two-time World Championship bronze medalist and in the team large hill event, also the two time Ski Flying World Championships bronze medalist in team.
Ilya Sergeyevich Rosliakov is a Russian ski jumper who has been competing since 2003. At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, he finished 10th in the team large hill and 44th in the individual large hill events.
Jan Matura is a Czech former nordic skier competing from 1999 to 2001 and a former ski jumper competing from 2002 to 2017.
Severin Freund is a German former ski jumper and current TV expert. He competed at World Cup level from 2008 to 2022, and is one of the most successful ski jumpers from Germany, having won the overall World Cup title in 2015, and scoring 22 individual World Cup wins. As a member of the German national team, Freund won a gold medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics and later became the 2015 World Champion on both the large hill and mixed team competitions.
