Rockol is an Italian online music magazine, founded in 1995.

Background

The publisher and executive director is Giampiero Di Carlo, author and professor of Economics and Music Industry in the master's degree in Music Communications at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart. [1] The editorial director is Franco Zanetti, a writer and journalist who is considered one of the leading Italian experts on the Beatles. [2]

In 2016, it received the Macchianera Awards as the best Italian music website. [3] In 2017, it received a similar award at the Targa Mei Musicletter Award. [4] Rockol is considered one of the largest Italian music sites in terms of quality and traffic. [5]

Rockol belongs to Rockol.com S.R.L., which also owns the newspaper organization Rock Online Italia, registered in 1996. [6]

Since 2017, the Rockol Awards have been awarded annually, where awards are given to both Italian and foreign artists. [7] [8]

Edoardo D'Erme, better known as Calcutta, is an Italian singer-songwriter. He debuted with the album Forse…, released by Geograph Records in 2012. Its follow-up, Mainstream, was released by Bomba Dischi on 30 November 2015, preceded by the single "Cosa mi manchi a fare". Initially ignored by Italian media, the album started to achieve success after a few months, when its lead single received airplay by Italian radio networks. Måneskin is an Italian rock band formed in Rome in 2016. The band is composed of lead vocalist Damiano David, bassist Victoria De Angelis, guitarist Thomas Raggi, and drummer Ethan Torchio. Performing in the streets in their early days, Måneskin rose to prominence after coming second in the eleventh season of the Italian version of X Factor in 2017. Their international breakthrough occurred when the foursome won the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 for Italy with the song "Zitti e buoni".

Filippo Uttinacci, professionally known as Fulminacci, is an Italian singer-songwriter. In April 2019, he debuted with the studio album La vita veramente, which was awarded the Targa Tenco for Best Debut Album. He also won the prize for Artist of the Year at the Rockol Awards 2019. After performing in several Italian music festivals, he enlarged his popularity in 2021, competing for the first time in the Sanremo Music Festival with the song "Santa Marinella". His second studio album was released shortly after, and became his first top-5 entry on the FIMI Italian Albums Chart.
