Rodney Smith (born 6 April 1944, Batley, Yorkshire, England) was an English first-class cricketer, who played for Yorkshire County Cricket Club in 1969 and 1970. [1]
Smith was a right-handed batsman, who played five first-class matches and three one day games. He scored 99 first-class runs, with a best of 37 not out against Gloucestershire. His slow, left arm orthodox spin bowling, was not called upon. [1]

He formed an opening partnership with Geoff Boycott for his native county, and was a stalwart player in an era of scant success for the Yorkshire team.

He then played two matches for his native Yorkshire in the same year, before returning to Lancashire for whom he played occasionally until 1869. In eight first-class games, Smith scored 181 runs at 12.92, with a best of 40 not out, and took 18 wickets at 20.11 with a best of 4 for 46.
