Rodney Ellis Tention (born May 27, 1963) is an American basketball coach who currently serves as an assistant coach at Cal Poly. [1]

Contents

Tention was formerly the head men's basketball coach at the College of Notre Dame and Loyola Marymount University. He then served an assistant at Stanford University under head coach Johnny Dawkins for three years, at San Diego under Bill Grier for five, and at San Jose State under Dave Wojcik for two. Following Wojcik's resignation, Tention became interim head coach of San Jose State on July 11, 2017. [2] He held this position while the school performed its search, eventually hiring Jean Prioleau. [3]

Charles William Driesell is an American basketball coach who is the boys' varsity basketball head coach at the Maret School in Washington, D.C. Formerly a college basketball coach, Driesell served as an assistant coach under Gary Williams at the University of Maryland, spent six seasons as head coach at Marymount University, and was head coach at The Citadel from 2010 to 2015. He is the son of former Maryland coach Lefty Driesell, and played for his father's team in college. Driesell was named the new boys' basketball coach at the Maret School in Washington, D.C., in the summer of 2015.

The 2023 BYU Cougars softball team represented Brigham Young University in the 2023 NCAA Division I softball season. Gordon Eakin entered the year as head coach of the Cougars for a 21st consecutive season. 2023 was the tenth and final season for the Cougars as members of the WCC in softball as they joined the Big 12 Conference for the 2024 season. The Cougars entered 2023 having won their last 13 conference championships and having been picked as the favorites to win the 2023 WCC title.
