Ryan Clark Crocker is a former career ambassador within the United States Foreign Service and a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom. He has served as United States Ambassador to Afghanistan (2011–2012), Iraq (2007–2009), Pakistan (2004–2007), Syria (1998–2001), Kuwait, and Lebanon (1990–1993). In January 2010, he became Dean of Texas A&M University's George Bush School of Government and Public Service.

As Deputy Ambassador to the United States, Mr. Sadiq launched the first ever internship program by the Pakistan Embassy. He also conducted a comprehensive study of Pakistani American community and worked with Pakistan American community to establish the Pakistan Caucus at Capitol Hill.

He resigned from office with a letter to the President on December 7, 2016, and left office as Ambassador on January 20, 2017.
