The National University of Singapore (NUS) is a national public collegiate and research university in Singapore. It was officially established in 1980 by the merger of the University of Singapore and Nanyang University.
Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan was an Emirati royal, politician, philanthropist and the founding founder of the United Arab Emirates. Zayed served as the governor of Eastern Region from 1946 until he succeeded Sheikh Shakhbut as the ruler of Abu Dhabi in 1966, and then as the first president of the United Arab Emirates while he retained his position as Abu Dhabi's ruler from 1971 until his death in 2004. He is revered in the United Arab Emirates as the Waalid al-Ummah, credited for being the principal driving force behind uniting the seven Trucial States to found the Union of the United Arab Emirates.

The Duke–NUS Medical School (Duke–NUS) is a graduate medical school in Singapore. The school was set up in April 2005 as the Duke–NUS Graduate Medical School, Singapore's second medical school, after the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, and before the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. It is a collaboration between Duke University in the United States and the National University of Singapore in Singapore. Duke-NUS follows the American model of post-baccalaureate medical education, in which students begin their medical studies after earning a bachelor's degree. Students are awarded degrees from both Duke University and the National University of Singapore.

Professor Lim Pin, DUBC was the Vice Chancellor at the National University of Singapore (NUS) from 1981 to 2000. Professor Lim began his career at the University of Singapore in 1966 as lecturer and was later promoted to Professor, heading the Department of Medicine. He served as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor from 1979 to 1981 and the Vice Chancellor from 1981 to 2000. In 2000, he was named the first University Professor of NUS.
Freddy Boey is a Singaporean academic currently serving as the president of the City University of Hong Kong. Boey was previously the deputy president of the National University of Singapore (NUS), overseeing the university's initiatives and activities in the areas of innovation, entrepreneurship and research translation, as well as graduate studies. He was previously the senior vice president of NUS. Before joining NUS in 2018, Boey was deputy president and provost of Nanyang Technological University (NTU) from July 2011 to September 2017. Prior to these appointments, he was the chair of NTU's School of Materials Science and Engineering from 2005 to 2010.

The Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music , a school of the National University of Singapore, is Singapore's first conservatory of music located at Conservatory Drive off Kent Ridge Crescent. Primarily an undergraduate institution, it offers full-time studies in 20 majors leading to a Bachelor of Music (Honours) Degree, as well as programmes for NUS students, graduate students, continuing education adult learners and young artists. The YST Conservatory maintains an undergraduate cohort of 220 Bachelor of Music students, all of whom receive full financial support through government grants, the Yong Loo Lin Trust and other donors. It also hosts a performance calendar of around 200 concerts annually.

The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) is the medical school of the Nanyang Technological University (NTU). The school was established in 2010 as Singapore's third medical school, after the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and the Duke–NUS Medical School. It started as a joint degree collaboration between Nanyang Technological University and Imperial College London which is scheduled to end in 2028, following which students will receive an NTU degree.
Kenneth R. Chien is an American doctor and medical scientist who has been a research director at Karolinska Institute, in Stockholm, since 2013. Chien has several papers with over 1,000 citations and a h-index of 132. His area of expertise is cardiovascular science. His research into regenerative cardiovascular medicine, specifically while director of the Cardiovascular Program of the Harvard Stem Cell Institute, led to his co-founding, in 2010, of ModeRNA Therapeutics. In 2018, the company re-branded as Moderna, Inc. Chien is a recipient of the Walter Bradford Cannon Award of the American Physiology Society and the Pasarow Award. He is a member of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters, the Austrian Academy of Sciences, and has received an honorary doctorate from the University of Edinburgh.
Arthur Mark Richards is a New Zealand physician, academic and medical researcher. He is a professor of cardiology and director of the Cardiovascular Research Institute at the National University of Singapore, and a professor of medicine and founder of the Christchurch Heart Institute at the University of Otago, Christchurch, New Zealand, where he holds the National Heart Foundation (NZ) Chair of Cardiovascular Studies.
