This franchise made 2 more sequels of this movie: Krrish & Krrish3. The film stars Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta in the lead roles with Rekha playing an important supporting role. Rakesh Roshan collected his first ever Filmfare Award, which he won as producer and as director. Following the release of the film, Hrithik became an overnight superstar. His successful debut was termed 'Hrithik Mania' by the media. Hrithik has been called the Millennial Superstar ever since. He became the only actor to win the Filmfare Award for Best Debut with the Filmfare Award for Best Actor for the same film.
