Early life

Rohit Chandel was born on 26 September 1995 to Rajendra Chandel and Nanda Chandel in Shahada, Maharashtra. [5]

Career

Chandel made his acting debut in a commercial advertisement after getting rejected in 90 auditions. [6] In 2014, Chandel made his television debut in BIG Magic series Har Mushkil Ka Hal Akbar Birbal in a minor role. [6] Later, he appeared in various Hindi series in several significant roles. [6] In 2022, he played the lead role of Baji Rao in Kashibai Bajirao Ballal . [7] [8] Currently, he is seen playing the lead role of Dhawal Makwana in Pandya Store opposite Priyanshi Yadav. [9] [10]

Baji Rao II was the 13th and the last Peshwa of the Maratha Confederacy. He governed from 1795 to 1818. This resulted in the Second Anglo-Maratha War (1803–1805), in which the British emerged victorious and re-installed him as the titular Peshwa. Kashibai was the first wife of Bajirao I, the Peshwa to the fourth Maratha Chhatrapati (Emperor) Shahu. With Bajirao, she had four children, including Balaji Baji Rao and Ragunath Rao. Balaji succeeded Bajirao as Peshwa upon the latter's death in 1740. Also following Bajirao's death, Kashibai fostered her step-son, Shamsher Bahadur, whose mother was Bajirao's second wife, Mastani.

The Bhat Peshwa family earlier known as Bhat family is a prominent Indian Chitpavan Brahmin family who dominated India for around 100 years in the late 18th century and early 19th century. Most of the members in this family were the Peshwas in the Peshwa Era of the Maratha Empire, and Peshwa later became their family name. During their regime, most of the Indian subcontinent was under their control. The last Peshwa, Baji Rao II, was defeated by the British East India Company in the Third Anglo-Maratha War in 1818. The territory was annexed to the British East India Company's Bombay Presidency, and he was pensioned.

The series starred Kinshuk Mahajan, Shiny Doshi, Akshay Kharodia, Kanwar Dhillon, Mohit Parmar, Alice Kaushik, Simran Budharup and Kruttika Desai. Since July 2023, it stars Priyanshi Yadav and Rohit Chandel as the second generation leads, with Kruttika Desai.

Produced by Rashmi Sharma under the banner of Rashmi Sharma Telefilms, the series stars Shefali Sharma, Rajneesh Duggal and Kamya Punjabi.
