Romello Height is an American football defensive end for the Texas Tech Red Raiders. He previously played for the Auburn, the USC Trojans and for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
Height attended Dublin High School in Dublin, Georgia. He was rated as a three-star recruit and committed to play college football for the Miami Hurricanes over other offers from Georgia Tech, Florida, and Kentucky. [1] However, Height later flipped his commitment to play for the Auburn Tigers. [2]
As a freshman in 2020, Height played in just two games. [3] In 2021, he notched 19 tackles with three being for a loss in nine games. [4] After the season, Height entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal. [4]
Height transferred to play for the USC Trojans. [5] During the 2022 season he appeared in just two games due to a shoulder injury. [3] In 2023, Height recorded 20 tackles with six being for a loss and four sacks. [6] After the season, he once again entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal. [7]
Height transferred to play for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. [6] In week 11 of the 2024 season, he recorded a game-sealing strip sack on Cam Ward to help upset #4 Miami. [8] Height finished the 2024 season with 34 tackles, two and a half sacks, two forced fumbles, and an interception. [9] After the season, he again entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal for his final season of eligibility. [10]
