Stephen John Nash is a Canadian professional basketball coach and former player who most recently served as head coach of the Brooklyn Nets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played 18 seasons in the NBA, where he was an eight-time All-Star and a seven-time All-NBA selection. Nash was a two-time NBA Most Valuable Player while playing for the Phoenix Suns.

Dwight Walton is a former basketball player from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He began his Basketball journey at Wagar High School in 1979 under the tutelage of Don McEwen and Jim Aiken and he received his High School Diploma in 1982. Dwight then attended Dawson College, a CEGEP in Montreal, which is equivalent to the Prep School system, where he was named an All Canadian in 1986. He then attended Siena College for the 1986-87 season and was named the North Atlantic Conference Rookie of the Year. He then transferred to the Florida Institute of Technology from 1987-91, received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Management and was a 3 time All American. Dwight is also in the Florida Tech Sports Hall of Fame, the Sunshine State Conference Hall of Fame and is on the Sunshine State Conference 25th Anniversary Team.

Bruce Lawrence Taylor is an American former professional football player who was spent his entire eight-year career as a cornerback for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL) from 1970 to 1977. He played college football for the Boston University Terriers and was selected by the 49ers in the first round of the 1970 NFL Draft. With San Francisco, Taylor played in the NFC Championship Game in 1971 and 1972. He was also named to the Pro Bowl in 1972. During his football career, Taylor received several rookie of the year awards including ones from Pro Football Weekly and the Associated Press.

After moving to Vancouver, Myers earned the nickname "Chaos Giraffe" from fans.

The National Basketball League of Canada was a Canadian professional men's minor league basketball organization. The NBL Canada was founded in 2011, when three existing Premier Basketball League teams joined with four new franchises for the league's inaugural season. The league changed in size multiple times and had four active teams in its final season, all in Ontario, but historically the NBLC had several located in the Atlantic provinces. The league's season typically ran from November to April of the following year. The final league champions were the London Lightning, who defeated the Windsor Express 3–2 in the 2023 NBL Finals.
