Ron Duprat (born August 22, 1972) is an American celebrity chef, television star, and author.
Duprat started his career as a dishwasher and first came to the United States when he was 16-year-old via boat from Haiti to Florida in a 27 days journey. [1] [2] Duprat pursued his education in Paris, France, at La Varenne Ecole Decuisine and in the United States at the Culinary Institute of America. [3] His specialty is combining rich Caribbean heritage flavors with French accents. Duprat wrote his own book called My Journey of Cooking and was appointed as a culinary ambassador by the State Department. [4] [5]
Duprat appeared on multiple culinary related shows and is best known as one of the top competitors on Bravo TV's Top Chef: Season Six , set in Las Vegas. He also appeared on Iron Chef America , Bar Rescue , and Beat Bobby Flay on Food Network. [6] [7] [8]
In 2010, Oprah magazine named "Butternut Squash and Sweet Potato Bisque" as Oprah's favorite recipe by Chef Duprat. [9] [10]
He is affiliated with several causes, including the First Lady Michelle Obama's 'Let's Move' campaign, No Hungry Kids, and the Black Culinarian Alliance (BCA). [11] [12] [9]
Floribbean cuisine refers to a fusion cuisine found in Florida with an emphasis on fresh regional ingredients and a complex medleys of spices, especially strong flavors offset by milder ones. Floribbean-style cooking incorporates an exotic spice pantry: red curry, lemongrass, ginger, and scallions are as commonly used today in Floribbean cookery as grits and cobbler are in other parts of Florida. Foundationally, its bedrock is Conch, Black, Spanish and Cuban regional cooking, with heavy Asian influences.

Anne W. Burrell is an American chef, television personality, and former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She is the host of the Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. She was also one of the Iron Chefs, Mario Batali's sous chefs in the Iron Chef America series and appears on other programs on the network such as The Best Thing I Ever Ate. She was a contestant on the fourth season of The Food Network competition show, The Next Iron Chef Super Chefs being eliminated in episode 6. She was also a contestant on the first season of Chopped All-Stars Tournament, winning the "Food Network Personalities" preliminary round to advance to the final round, where she placed second runner up to Nate Appleman (winner) and Aarón Sanchez. In 2015, Burrell won the fourth installment of the Chopped All-Stars tournament winning $75,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. She also hosted the series Chef Wanted with Anne Burrell in 2012–2013.

Lawrence Timothy Ryan is an American chef and the fifth and current president of the Culinary Institute of America (CIA). Ryan, a certified master chef, graduated from the CIA in 1977 and joined the school's faculty in 1982, and later moved to administration before heading the education division. In 2001, he became the first CIA alumnus and faculty member to become president of the college, in 2001. Prior to returning to the CIA as a faculty member, he spent five years as a chef in different aspects of the culinary industry.

Danielle Carlisle established the school in 1977 to train chefs using the European education model.
