Ron Link (Nijmegen, 22 September 1979) is a Dutch singer and actor in musical theatre.

Career

He began his career as a model for a sauna promotion. In 2004, he competed in the Dutch version Idols where he managed to reach the final 10 but was ultimately voted off in the third round, making him the eighth finalist. [1] Since then he has made numerous appearances on television programs in the Netherlands. [1]

In 2006, he was chosen in the TV show Wie Wordt Tarzan? (Who is going to be Tarzan?) to play Tarzan in the Dutch version of the musical. [2] The program had one of the highest audience shares of any television program in the Netherlands.[ citation needed ] Link is played the role in the Netherlands and continued with the production when it moved to Sweden. In preparing for the role, Link got to work with such notable artists as Phil Collins. [2] [3] In 2007, he was awarded with the Nashuatec Musical Award (John Kraaijkamp Musical Award) for new musical talent. Link was seen in cabaret group Purple in 2011. [4]

In 2012, he competed on season 3 of The Voice of Holland , where he was chosen to be on Trijntje Oosterhuis' team.

In 2013, he was performing as lead singer of the Dutch band Colibri. [5]

Personal life

Link was in a committed relationship with fellow Idol star Jamai Loman from 2004 when they met on the program, [6] but they broke up in 2008.

<i>Hoepla</i> Dutch television series

Hoepla ("Whoops") was a Dutch experimental cultural television show broadcast in 1967. It aimed at a young teenage audience and was notable for being unpredictable and risky in its subject matter, featuring reports, performances, declarations, and interviews that tied in with the subversive atmosphere of the Provo movement. The Voice Kids is a Dutch talent show produced by Talpa and broadcast on RTL 4 since January 27, 2012. It was hosted by Martijn Krabbé and Wendy van Dijk in seasons 1 to 8. The Masked Singer is a Belgian reality singing competition television series based on the Masked Singer franchise which originated from the South Korean version of the show King of Mask Singer. It premiered on VTM on 18 September 2020, and is hosted by Niels Destadsbader. The winner of the first series was Sandra Kim. The winner of the second series was Camille Dhont.

<i>Big Brother</i> (Dutch and Belgian TV series) Dutch version of Big Brother

Big Brother is the Dutch & Belgian cooperation version of the international reality television franchise Big Brother produced by Endemol. The show aired in Netherlands on RTL5 and in the Flemish Region on VIER/Play4 and has had a total of three seasons. The first season of the show aired in 2021. A fourth season will air in 2024.

The Dutch television mystery music game show I Can See Your Voice premiered the third season on RTL 4 on 21 January 2022.

The second season of The Masked Singer based on the Masked Singer franchise which originated from the South Korean version of the show King of Mask Singer. It premiered on VTM on 14 January 2022 and is hosted by Niels Destadsbader. The season was won by singer Camille Dhont as "Miss Kitty", with singer Loredana finishing second as "Knight", and party chairman Conner Rousseau placing third as "Rabbit".
