The Roosevelt School (also known as the Roosevelt Academy) is a historic school in Lake Wales, Florida. It is located at 115 E Street. On March 29, 2001, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Originally this school served the African-American Community or the Northwest community in Lake Wales. Currently it is an ESE vocational school specifically designed to teach and train students in grades 6–12 with learning disabilities to adapt and excel in society

Roosevelt School - This school was completed in 1937 and named for Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Classes were held for grades 1 - 9. In 1939, it became a full-fledged senior high school. In May 1940 the first commencement exercises were held with 13 students being granted diplomas. In 1950, the addition of Unit G was made; in 1955, Units A, B, D, E, were added and the gymnasium was constructed in 1957. Enrollment during the 1960s reached over 1,300. Roosevelt served African-American students from Frostproof as well as Lake Wales. [2]

Theodore Roosevelt College and Career Academy (TRCCA), formerly known as Theodore Roosevelt High School and often referred to as Gary Roosevelt, was a charter school located in the Midtown neighborhood of Gary, Indiana, United States. In February 2020, the Distressed Unit Appeal Board voted to close Roosevelt after a series of burst pipes throughout the winter of 2019 left the school in need of expensive repairs. At the time of its closing, the school was managed by EdisonLearning and was divided into a senior and collegiate academy for grades 9–12 and a junior academy for grades 7–8. Roosevelt was part of the Gary Community School Corporation until 2012, when the Indiana Department of Education took control of the school due to poor academic performance and contracted with EdisonLearning to operate the school. Under Edison, Roosevelt was reorganized into academies and the school received its final name. Athletic teams at Roosevelt were known as the Panthers and the school colors were black and gold. Roosevelt was part of the Indiana High School Athletic Association as a member of the Northwestern Conference.

The Lake of the Hills Community Club is a historic site in Lake Wales, Florida, United States. It is located at 47 East Starr Avenue. On March 24, 2000, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.In 1914 a plot of land was set aside by an early land developer in Polk county by the name of W.J.Howey who through his land company purchased several hundreds of acres around Starr Lake and beyond, which he plotted and platted for home-site development. The Railroad was well established and utilized by many wealth patrons who established a winter community known as Mountain Lake estates Upon Which world famous Bok Tower carillon was built. He visualised that many wealthy Northerners would likewise purchase his platted acreage. He was mindful that this community would need common acreage for recreational community site. Located on the North-Westernmost corner of Starr lake the "Club" was officially designated in 1904 and in 1927 the Club House was constructed by the local residents using their talents and money. Coincidentally, the construction and dedication coincided that of Bok Tower and Gardens which was presided over by then President Calvin Coolidge. Originally the Club was for the use of only owners of a Howey land plot but as a precursor to National Registration participation and member ship was thrown open to the general public. Over 400 persons,including most local dignitaries and public officials, attended the "100th Centennial Celebration" held in 2014 where the name of the "Club" was changed to Lake Of The Hills Community Center.

It is located east of State Road 17, on the north shore of Mountain Lake. On February 22, 1991, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

Wilbur B. Talley American architect

Wilbur B. Talley was an architect in Florida. He worked in Jacksonville until the death of his wife Nellie and daughter Sarah, who were riding in a car hit by a train on December 21, 1919. After the accident, he moved to Lakeland, Florida where he continued working as an architect.
