Rory O'Brien (born 28 June 1986) is an Australian rules footballer currently playing for the Peel Thunder Football Club in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). He is the older brother of Brock O'Brien. [1]

O'Brien made his league debut for Peel Thunder in round 1 of the 2005 season and was voted the club's best and fairest player in 2006. [2] He spent the 2008 season at North Adelaide Football Club in the South Australian National Football League, before returning to Peel Thunder in 2009. [1] After winning Peel's best and fairest award for a second time in 2010, [2] he transferred to East Fremantle for the 2011 season. [1] 2011 also saw O'Brien make his state debut for Western Australia. [2]

During his time at East Fremantle, O'Brien has been awarded the Lynn Medal for the club's best and fairest on three occasions; in 2011 and 2014 he was the sole winner, while he shared the award with Andrew Stephen in 2013. [3] In 2013, O'Brien won the Sandover Medal for the best and fairest player in the WAFL with 55 votes. [4]

After five years and 105 games with East Fremantle, O'Brien returned to his original club Peel Thunder for the 2016 season. [5]

It was founded in 1896, and admitted to the WAFL in 1901, along with North Fremantle. The club is currently based at Leederville Oval, having previously played at Subiaco Oval.

The Peel Thunder Football Club is an Australian rules football club playing in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) and WAFL Women's (WAFLW). The team is based in Mandurah, Western Australia, with their home ground being Rushton Park. The club joined the WAFL as an expansion team in 1997.

James Francis Conway was an Australian rules football player and coach. The winner of the 1950 Sandover Medal, Conway played 180 games for East Fremantle in the Western Australian National Football League (WANFL) between 1943 and 1956, also representing Western Australia in 15 interstate matches. In 1964, he was appointed coach of Claremont, a position which he held for five years, until 1968. He was inducted into the West Australian Football Hall of Fame in 2009.

Kyal Horsley

Kyal Horsley is an Australian rules footballer who formerly played for the Gold Coast Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Originally from Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, he previously also played with the Kalgoorlie City Football Club in the Goldfields Football League (GFL) and the Subiaco Football Club in the West Australian Football League (WAFL), where he finished runner-up in the 2011 Sandover Medal to Luke Blackwell. Mark Hutchings Australian rules footballer

Mark Raymond Hutchings is an Australian rules footballer who plays for the West Coast Eagles in the Australian Football League (AFL). From Perth, Western Australia, Hutchings captained his state at the 2009 National Under-18 Championships, and, having also played for East Perth in the West Australian Football League (WAFL), was selected by St Kilda in the 2010 Rookie Draft. A midfielder, he was delisted after a season at the club without having made his senior debut, and transferred to West Perth upon his return to Western Australia. Establishing himself as a regular player for the team, Hutchings was one of the competition's best players during the 2012 season, playing state football, finishing second in the Sandover Medal, and winning West Perth's best and fairest award.
