Rosalind Ruth Ross [1] [2] (born July 5, 1990) [1] [2] [3] is an American screenwriter, film director and former equestrian vaulter. [2] [4] [5] She is best known for writing, directing and executive producing the 2022 feature film Father Stu . [3] [6]

She won a gold medal at the 2010 FEI World Equestrian Games. [3] [4]

She has also written an episode of the 2014 television series Matador . [3] [4]

She was born in Aptos, California. [1] [2] She graduated from Palo Alto High School and Emerson College. [2]

Ross has been in a relationship with Mel Gibson since 2014; they have a son named Lars Gerard Gibson, who was born in January 2017. [3] [4] [7] She is a Christian. [1] [2]

In May 2025, it was announced that Ross will make her second directorial effort with God of the Rodeo, starring Shia LaBeouf. [8]
