Rose Meltzer

Rose Meltzer is an American bridge player. After completion of 2014 tournaments she was the only woman among 84 living Open World Grand Masters and she ranked 58th among them by World Bridge Federation (WBF) open masterpoints. [1]

For the 1999 to 2007 cycles of world bridge competition, Meltzer led professional teams that won two major open team world championships: the biennial Bermuda Bowl in 2001, representing the United States as USA2, and the quadrennial Rosenblum Cup in 2006. (Kyle Larsen was her partner in both tournaments.) In both 2005 and 2007 she was one of six players on USA senior teams that won the Senior Bowl, a tournament for older players that is contested alongside the Bermuda Bowl (open) and Venice Cup (women). Cezary Jacek Balicki is a Polish bridge and chess player. After 2014 competition, he ranked 17th among Grand Masters by World Bridge Federation (WBF) masterpoints, five places ahead of his longtime partner Adam Żmudziński. They ranked 26–27th among more than 100 all-time Grand Masters by placing points that do not decay over time. Balicki also holds the chess title of FIDE Master (FM).

Eric R. Murray was a Canadian contract bridge player and co-founder of the Canadian Bridge Federation (CBF). He and his long-time regular partner Sami Kehela are considered two of the best Canadian players in the history of the game. The Eric R. Murray Trophy, named in his honour, is awarded to the open team representing Canada in the quadrennial World Team Olympiad.

Sami R. Kehela, sometimes spelled Sammy Kehela, is a Canadian contract bridge player. A member of the Hall of Fames of both the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) and the Canadian Bridge Federation, he and his long-time partner Eric Murray are considered two of the best Canadian players in the history of the game.

Lorenzo Lauria is an Italian international bridge player. He is a six-time world champion and a World Grand Master of the World Bridge Federation (WBF). As of July 2014 he ranks fifth among Open World Grand Masters and his regular partner Alfredo Versace ranks fourth.

Ira Rubin was an American professional contract bridge player. Rubin attended the Bronx High School of Science and later New York University. Rubin lived in Fair Lawn and resided in nearby Paramus for 35 years.

In teams-of-four competition, Fishbein was a runner-up for the world championship in the 1959 Bermuda Bowl, playing on the United States team in a three-way round-robin among Europe, North America, and South America representatives. Fishbein was "the presiding genius" of the famous Mayfair club [or Mayfair Bridge Club] for more than 20 years" – proprietor of the training ground of experts from 1943 to 1966. As of 1960 he was also ACBL Treasurer.

Thomas Koonce Sanders, Sr. was an American bridge player from Nashville, Tennessee. He was married to Carol Sanders, a women's teams world champion player.

Larry T. Cohen (1943-2016) was an American bridge player. Cohen was from Palm Desert, California. He was a pharmacist and a graduate of University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Fred Hamilton is a professional American bridge player. Hamilton is a World Bridge Federation (WBF) World Grand Master and American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) Grand Life Master and inventor of the popular Hamilton convention used to compete over the opponent's 1NT opening bid.
