History

Founded in 2004 by Canadian investor Jay Rosenzweig, Rosenzweig & Company is a leading [5] global recruitment-search firm headquartered in Toronto with reach in all key business centers including New York, Montreal, Calgary, San Francisco, Los Angeles, [6] Hong Kong, and Mumbai. [7] Members of the firm have been interviewed on television [8] and radio [9] as well as by The Guardian, [10] The New York Times, The National Post, [11] and The Globe and Mail on issues of diversity, executive team building and the future of technology. [12] Hyperloop Transportation Technologies [13] and CryptoSlam [14] are among the company's clients.

Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Rosenzweig met with Ukrainian politician Andriy Yermak to discuss support for the country. [15] [16]

The Rosenzweig Report

The firm publishes the annual Rosenzweig Report on Women at the Top Levels of Corporate Canada, first published in 2006. [17] [18] The Rosenzweig Report analyzes the prevalence of female executives at the 100 largest publicly traded companies in the country. [19] The publication has been referenced in the annual report of the Status of Women Canada, a federal government organization devoted to the advancement of women in Canadian life, in 2008 and 2009, and has been cited in news coverage around the world. [20] [21] The Rosenzweig Report has had contributions from Jesse Draper, Karena Evans, Katie Taylor, Adam Grant, Dikembe Mutombo, and Chrystia Freeland. [22] Based on data from the Rosenzweig Report, Digital Trends detailed gender disparity in the workplace and how to address it. [23]

Sheryl Sandberg, Van Jones, Zainab Salbi, Andrew Yang, Chloe Flower, and Jason Flom contributed to the wide-ranging 2019 report. [24] Inno & Tech Today pointed to the Rosenzweig Report to conclude that "discrimination is alive and well" and that the representation gap between men and women in the technology industry remained wide. [25]

Gender representation on corporate boards of directors refers to the proportion of men and women who occupy board member positions. To measure gender diversity on corporate boards, studies often use the percentage of women holding corporate board seats and the percentage of companies with at least one woman on their board. Globally, men occupy more board seats than women. As of 2018, women held 20.8% of the board seats on Russell 1000 companies. Most percentages for gender representation on corporate boards refer only to public company boards. Private companies are not required to disclose information on their board of directors, so the data is less available.

Women in venture capital or VC are investors who provide venture capital funding to startups. Women make up a small fraction of the venture capital private equity workforce. A widely used source for tracking the number of women in venture capital is the Midas List which has been published by Forbes since 2001. Research from Women in VC, a global community of women venture investors, shows that the percentage of female VC partners is just shy of 5 percent.

Shamim Rajani is an entrepreneur and businesswoman from Karachi, Pakistan. In 2004, she began to work professionally in the Information Technology (IT) industry of Pakistan. In 2005, she co-founded Genetech Solutions, a software development company, based in Karachi, Pakistan. Since 2010, she has been serving as the chief operating officer (COO) in the same company. In the year 2017, she launched the computer training program under the ConsulNet Corporation to educate non-tech women in Karachi. In 2018, she launched another training program, CodeGirls, in partnership with Faiza Yousuf. The CodeGirls is the subsidiary of ConsulNet Corporation. In the same year, she also began to serve as an advisor for WomenInTechPK and became the Pakistani ambassador at CryptoChicks, a research institute based in Toronto, Canada. In 2019, she became the board member of the Pakistan Agile Development Society. In the second quarter of the year 2020, she was elected as the vice-chairperson of P@SHA. She began to serve in the office from the mid of October 2020 while working closely with Jehan Ara, the president of P@SHA.

Lisa S. Jones is an American businesswoman and entrepreneur, best known for being the founder of Atlanta-based video email company EyeMail Inc. As both a black and woman-owned business, EyeMail Inc. is classified as a Minority Women Business Enterprise (MWBE). Her company began as a start-up, eventually growing exponentially through partnerships with Microsoft, Delta Air Lines, Time Warner, Porsche North America, the Atlanta Tech Village, PepsiCo and, most notably, The Coca-Cola Company, through which EyeMail Inc. got selected by Microsoft as a premier MWBE supplier in digital marketing. Prior to dedicating herself to entrepreneurship, Jones worked in supplier diversity for telecommunications provider AT&T, and continues to develop a career as a thought leader and public speaker in the matter.
