The Route of Ages is a fictional portal in spacetime, in the fictional universe of the science fiction television show Andromeda , sought by many of the show's characters throughout season four (see MacGuffin).
It is this portal through which Trance Gemini takes the Andromeda Ascendant and her crew. When the Andromeda passed through the Route of Ages, she arrived on the planet Seefra (later revealed to be Tarn-Vedra), where captain Dylan Hunt finds out that he is the last of the Paradines, a highly evolved and human-like type of Vedran.
The Route of Ages derives its name from Vedran mythology. In the episode "The Weight, Part 1" the character Flavin says that the term Route of Ages was the name of the mystical road which linked the houses of the Vedran gods in the celestial city Atashe.
The Route of Ages brought a lot of strange spatial and temporal anomalies to the Seefra system in Season 5, like a possible-future version of Dylan Hunt, or vast amounts of solar radiation to reignite the legendary Methus Suns. The Route of Ages appears as a blue outline of a hypercube, spinning, changing, and morphing.
In the episode "Pride Before The Fall", scientist and visionary Peter Musevini journeyed through the mythical Route of Ages in his time-traveling journey to obtain the DNA of Andromeda crewmember Beka Valentine to help create Nietzschean progenitor Drago Musevini's genetic code. Thus, he created Drago Musevini using his own DNA and that of Beka Valentine, bringing about the existence of the legendary Progenitor of all Nietzscheans.
In the episode "The World Turns All Around Her", former Andromeda crewman Tyr Anasazi traveled through the Route of Ages with the newly united Nietzschean Prides as he sought a way to weaken the Spirit of the Abyss and destroy the Magog, the aggressive race which threatened all the inhabitants of the Known Worlds. He perished there, slain by Dylan Hunt and Telemachus Rhade after he sought to bargain for a way out with the Spirit of the Abyss using Beka Valentine.
In the episode "The Heart of the Journey", it was revealed that the Spirit of the Abyss was located in the very center of the Route. From there, it controlled and guided the hordes of the Magog in their onslaught against the galaxies. The crew of the Andromeda used Trance Gemini's sun to ultimately destroy it. Once the deed was done, the Route of Ages turned into a slipstream portal, therefore reuniting the nearly mythical planet Tarn-Vedra, homeworld of the legendary Vedrans, with the space-faring inhabitants of the Known Worlds.
Andromeda is a space opera television series, based on unused material by Gene Roddenberry, developed by Robert Hewitt Wolfe, and produced by Roddenberry's widow, Majel Barrett. It starred Kevin Sorbo as High Guard Captain Dylan Hunt. The series premiered on October 2, 2000, and ended on May 13, 2005.
Kevin David Sorbo is an American actor. He had starring roles in two television series: as Hercules in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, and as Captain Dylan Hunt in Andromeda. Sorbo is also known for acting in the Christian drama films God's Not Dead and Let There Be Light.
In Greek mythology, Perseus is the legendary founder of Mycenae and of the Perseid dynasty. He was, alongside Cadmus and Bellerophon, the greatest Greek hero and slayer of monsters before the days of Heracles. He beheaded the Gorgon Medusa for Polydectes and saved Andromeda from the sea monster Cetus. He was the son of Zeus and the mortal Danaë, as well as the half-brother and great-grandfather of Heracles.
Gog and Magog appear in the Hebrew Bible, Christian Bible, and Quran as individuals, tribes, or lands. Clash of the Titans is a 1981 fantasy adventure film directed by Desmond Davis and written by Beverley Cross which is loosely based on the Greek myth of Perseus. It stars Harry Hamlin, Judi Bowker, Burgess Meredith, Maggie Smith and Laurence Olivier. The film features the final work of stop-motion visual effects artist Ray Harryhausen. It was released on June 12, 1981 and grossed $41 million at the North American box office, which made it the 11th-highest-grossing film of the year. A novelization of the film by Alan Dean Foster was published in 1981.

A hellhound is a supernatural dog in folklore. A wide variety of ominous or hellish supernatural dogs occur in mythologies around the world. Features that have been attributed to hellhounds include mangled black fur, glowing red eyes, super strength and speed, ghostly or phantom characteristics, and a foul odor. Certain European legends state that if someone stares into a hellhound's eyes three times or more, that person will surely die. In cultures that associate the afterlife with fire, hellhounds may have fire-based abilities and appearance. They are often assigned to guard the entrances to the world of the dead, such as graveyards and burial grounds, or undertake other duties related to the afterlife or the supernatural, such as hunting lost souls or guarding a supernatural treasure. In European legends, seeing a hellhound or hearing it howl may be an omen or even a cause of death.
Genesis of Aquarion, also known simply as Aquarion is a Japanese anime television series written and directed by Shoji Kawamori, produced by Satelight. Set in the future, a giant fighting machine called the Aquarion is humanity's only effective weapon in the fight against the technologically advanced species called the Shadow Angels. Aquarion was broadcast on TV Tokyo from April 4 to September 26, 2005. An alternate retelling of the television series, the Genesis of Aquarion OVA, premiered on May 25, 2007. The television series is licensed in North America by Funimation. On April 27, 2009, the series made its North American television debut on the Funimation Channel. A sequel to the series titled Aquarion Evol was announced on February 25, 2011, and aired in 2012.

Mythic Warriors is a 1998-2000 animated television series, which featured retellings of popular Greek myths that were altered so as to be appropriate for younger audiences, produced by Nelvana and Marathon Media. Two seasons of episodes were produced in 1998 and 1999; then aired as reruns until 2000, when CBS' abolition of its children's programming resulted in its cancellation. The series was based on the book series Myth Men Guardians of the Legend written in 1996 and 1997 by Laura Geringer and illustrated by Peter Bollinger.
