The Royal House of Grace International Church is a church in Nigeria that was founded in 1992 by Apostle Zilly Aggrey. The church has its headquarters at New GRA, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. [1] [2]

History

The Royal House of Grace International Church started in 30 October 1992 with 15 persons in attendance. [3] Over the years the church grew and there was a need for a bigger auditorium because of the growth. The church moved to their current headquarters in 1997.

In 2021, Aggrey was the General Overseer of the church, and was also the National Vice President (South-South) of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN). [4]

In 2022, the planned 30th anniversary celebrations were postponed due to flooding. [5]

Bonny Island is situated at the southern edge of Rivers State in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria near Port Harcourt. Ferries are the main form of transport, though recently an airstrip has been built and it’s fully functional - with flights from Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt respectively to and from the island. The local dialect spoken in Bonny Island is Ibani, an Ijaw language.

On 28 May 2022, 31 people were killed and seven others injured in a stampede in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria, at a church event where free food was to be given out.
