Royal Palm Beach Pines Natural Area is a 773-acre area of protected land in Royal Palm Beach, Florida that includes pine flatwoods and wet prairie. There are hiking and equestrian trails, a nature trail, and boardwalk. The park is located at 110 Nature's Way or the northern entrance on 40th Street and Avocado Boulevard. [1]

The Acreage is an unincorporated community located in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States, with a 2010 US Census Bureau population count of 38,704. It is located in the areas north of Royal Palm Beach and Loxahatchee Groves, and is approximately 15 miles (24 km) northwest of West Palm Beach. Most of the population lives in single-family homes on 1.14 acres (4,600 m2) and larger lots. It straddles the western fringes of the highly developed eastern portion of Palm Beach County and the agricultural-rural western portions. Its large, spacious home site lots, dirt roads and many wooded areas give the area a rural character, although it is widely considered to be an exurban outgrowth of the South Florida Metropolitan Area. The Acreage is located solely within the Indian Trail Improvement District, responsible for maintaining the road and drainage systems within its boundaries.

Green Cay Wetlands

Green Cay Wetlands is a nature preserve located in Boynton Beach, Florida. The 100-acre (0.40 km2) property was purchased in 1999 from Ted and Trudy Winsberg, who used the property for farming. The Winsbergs sold the property for 1/3 of its appraised value with the condition that it would be made into a wetland. Construction began in July 2003. It was created jointly by the Palm Beach County Utilities Department and the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department in 2004. This park includes 1.5 miles (2.4 km) of an elevated wooden boardwalk, which takes visitors through various habitats, including cabbage palm hammock, cypress swamp, wetland hammock, and tropical hardwood hammock. The boardwalk also features a Seminole chickee hut as well as several gazebos, which have descriptive signs offering information on the wildlife and plant life.

Okeeheelee Park is located in West Palm Beach, Florida, United States. It is managed by the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department. The original site for the park was purchased in 1973, and at the time only about 10% of the area was in its natural state. After 23 years of reclamation, the park was not completed in June, 1996. Covering over 900 acres (3.6 km2), the park encompasses two lakes; with access for boating, fishing, water skiing, and radio controlled boating. Okeeheelee's construction was split into 6 phases, however some did not make it. Like phase 5 which was supposed to be a water park.

Loxahatchee Groves was incorporated November 1, 2006, as the 38th municipality in Palm Beach County. The first election for town council members was held on March 13, 2007. Although Loxahatchee Groves did not become a municipality until 2006, the area had been settled since 1917. Billing itself as "Florida's Last Frontier", Loxahatchee Groves was primarily incorporated to better protect the area from encroaching urbanization as nearby cities continued to develop and to preserve the area's rural character.

Turkey Creek Sanctuary

The Turkey Creek Sanctuary is a small nature reserve in the city of Palm Bay in Brevard County, Florida, and incorporates both salty hammock and sand pine ridge habitats. The sanctuary is part of the Brevard County Environmentally Endangered Lands (EEL) program. It has 1.85 miles (3 km) of boardwalk paths and 1.5 miles (2.4 km) of jogging trails through native forest to Turkey Creek, an excellent site for seeing birds, turtles, manatees, alligators as well as other local wildlife; there is a canoe deck on the creek. The creek is an important breeding ground for both salt and fresh water fish. The Sanctuary is part of the East Florida section of the Great Florida Birding Trail.

The College of Education is an academic college of Florida Atlantic University located in Boca Raton, Florida, United States. Riverbend Park is a 680-acre (280 ha) park in the Jupiter Farms section of Jupiter, in Palm Beach County, Florida. The area includes the Riverbend Regional Park Historic District with Indian middens and a preserved battlefield from the Seminole War at the Loxahatchee River Battlefield Park adjacent to Riverbend. The park includes 10 miles of hiking/biking trails, 7 miles of equestrian trails and 5 miles of canoeing/kayaking trails and includes a section of the Loxahatchee River, a National Wild and Scenic River. Sweetbay Natural Area is a 1,094 acre protected area of wetlands, pine flatwoods, and oak hammock in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The habitats provide sanctuary for wading birds, red-shouldered hawks, bobcats, eastern lubber grasshoppers, and Florida box turtles. Sweetbay Natural Area is located at 12560 Aviation Boulevard inside the North County Airport off Bee Line Highway, one mile north of PGA Boulevard.

Frenchman's Forest Natural Area is a 158-acre (64 ha) protected area of pine flatwoods, strand swamp, scrubby flatwoods, hydric hammock tidal swamp and wet flatwoods in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. It is located at 12201 Prosperity Farms Road. There are hiking trails and a boardwalk.

Hypoluxo Scrub Natural Area is a 97-acre (39 ha) area of protected scrub and scrubby flatwood land in Hypoluxo, Florida. It is located on Hypoluxo Road and US 1. The area includes hiking trails and a nature trail. The name Hypoluxo comes from the Seminole name for what is now known as Lake Worth, roughly translated as "water all 'round—no get out". The lake was later renamed in honor of Seminole Indian War colonel William Jenkins Worth.
