Port Harcourt is the capital and largest city in Rivers State, Nigeria. It is the fifth most populous city in Nigeria after Lagos, Kano, Ibadan and Benin. It lies along the Bonny River and is located in the Niger Delta. Rumuokoro is a town in Obio-Akpor, Rivers State, Nigeria. It is the meeting point of five major roads in Nigerian economy and the gateway to and from the city of Port Harcourt. The word, 'Rumuo' in Rumuokoro was believed to be coined by the Ikwere ethnic group of Rivers State.
The Ikwerre is one of the Igbo subgroups in Rivers State. They are the biggest ethnic group in Rivers state.Traditional history has classified Ikwerre into seven groups called "Ikwerre Essa". They are Elele, Isiokpo, Rumuji, Emohua, Choba, Aluu, Igwuruta and Obio group. This division was recognized by Forde and Jones; (1950) in their ethnographic study of the Igbo speaking peoples of South Eastern Nigeria though has been disputed by indigenous ikwerre people. It was also in line with this grouping those seven customary Courts were established in Ikwerre during the Colonial administration. These Courts were located at Elele, Isiokpo, Umuji, Emohua, Choba, Aluu and Obio in Ikwerreland.
Obio-Akpor is a local government area in the metropolis of Port Harcourt, one of the major centres of economic activities in Nigeria, and one of the major cities of the Niger Delta, located in Rivers State, with industries and companies like Pabod Breweries, Coca-Cola Company, Indomie Company and Portharcourt Electricity Distribution Plc. The local government area covers 260 km2 and at the 2006 Census held a population of 464,789. Its postal code or ZIP code is 500102. Franklin Achinike Owhor is a Nigerian lawyer, politician and member of the Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party. He is an autochthon of the Ikwerre tribe in Obio-Akpor local government area. He served as the Deputy Mayor of Port Harcourt in 1988 and was the 13th Attorney General of Rivers State and Commissioner for Justice from 1996 until 1999 and was reappointed for a second term shortly before the civilian fourth republic. Port Harcourt Local Government Area (PHALGA) is a local government area of Rivers State in southern Nigeria. It is one of the 23 local government areas created for the state. Its administrative seat is located in Port Harcourt. Although the local government consists of two different ethnic groups the Ikwerre and Obulom (Abuloma). The Abuloma people of Rivers State speak Obulom- Ochichi language.

Rebisi is a traditional kingdom of the Ikwerre people in what is today Nigeria. It is located in Port Harcourt and comprises the localities of Oroabali, Orolozu, Orogbum, Oroworukwo, Orochiri, Oromeruezimgbu and Oroada. Kingsley Ogundu Chinda is a Nigerian politician and member of the Nigerian National Assembly. O.K Chinda is currently representing Obio/Akpor Constituency in the Federal House of Representative.
Choba, Port Harcourt is a neighbourhood in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. It is located 16 km (9.9 mi) to the northwest of the Port Harcourt central business district, on the eastern bank of the New Calabar River.
