Rune Larsson (born 25 June 1952 in Gotland, Sweden) was a Swedish international football referee. [1]
He officiated 5 international matches and was member of FIFA in 1985–1992. He attributed two World Cup qualifying matches 1986 (1) and 1990 (1) [2] and others were in friendly matches.
In club football he officiated some UEFA competition matches such as Champions League (3) and UEFA Cup (7). [3] He refereed 202 matches in Allsvenskan, a record at the time. [4] He also officiated 2 Japan football league matches in 1994. [5]
Larsson is best known as "the referee who scored". On September 5, 1979 at Råsunda Football Stadium, in the training match between Essinge IK and AIK he scored a header goal and the goal counted. He wrote a book called Domaren som gjorde mål and mentioned a more about his scored goal. [4] [6]
