Rupak Sarmah is a Bharatiya Janata Party politician from Assam. He has been elected in Assam Legislative Assembly election in 2016 and 2021 from Nowgong constituency. [1] [2] [3]

Sarmah is a businessman by profession and a cultural worker.[ citation needed ] He is the President of Alumni Association, Nowgong College, a college of Assam. He was born in Nagaon, Assam.

Ram Prasad Sarmah is an Indian National Congress Assam Pradesh politician from Assam.Earlier in 2014, he was contested from Bharatiya Janata Party from Tezpur Loksabha Constituency. He is the current President of Assam Gorkha Sammelan. He is an advocate at the Gauhati High Court, and has been fielded as the candidate from the Tezpur constituency by his party in the 2014 Indian general election which he won. He did his Bachelor of Laws From Tura Law College in 1980-81 and Bachelor of Arts From Mendipathar College in 1976.

Girindra Kumar Baruah is an Indian politician in Assam. He represented Barhampur in the Assam Assembly during 1985–90. In 1996, he won Nowgong Sadar Assembly Constituency and represented it till 2011, when he lost to Indian National Congress candidate Durlabh Chamua.

Nowgong College is an autonomous college affiliated to Gauhati University. Established in 1944, it is one of the oldest co-educational colleges of Assam, situated in the city of Nagaon. It was initially established with the permission of the University of Calcutta but later, in 1948, the college was accorded affiliation to the Gauhati University. On 22nd December 2020, the college was granted autonomy by the University Grants Commission for a period of 10 years.

Nowgong Law College commonly known as NLC is a government law school situated at LNB Road, Haibargaon, Nagaon, Naogaon District in the Indian state of Assam. It offers undergraduate 3 years law courses and 5 Year Integrated B.A. LL.B. course affiliated to Gauhati University. This College is recognised by Bar Council of India, New Delhi.
