Rupert Andrew Woodward Goodman, FRGS DL (born 17 April 1963) is a British publisher, international affairs expert and entrepreneur.

Goodman was born in Kidderminster. He was educated at Eton College and Trinity College, Cambridge where he represented the university in the Varsity Athletics Match as a hurdler. He was also Secretary of the Pitt Club. After graduating from Cambridge, Goodman worked at J. Walter Thompson in London. In 1984 he founded FIRST, a multi-disciplinary international affairs organisation, he is currently chairman of FIRST. [1] FIRST received the Queen's Award for Enterprise in 2010 and 2013, for excellence in international markets.
In 2000 he founded the Responsible Capitalism Initiative and Annual Award to honour business leaders who have excelled in both commercial success and social responsibility. [2]
He is a founding trustee and chairman of the British-Kazakh Society, [3] and a founding director of Equilibrium. [4] He is the chairman of World Petroleum, Global Energy and World Energy Insight. He was elected a founding director of NewWaveSolutions, a subsidiary of DEME, in 2016 and became Chairman of the Thai-United Kingdom Business Council in 2019. [5]
He was a Trustee of the National Botanic Garden of Wales between 2005-2008. [6]
In 2012 Goodman was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London. He is also the recipient of a London Metropolitan Police Commissioner's Commendation and is a Freeman of the City of London. [7]
Goodman is a Vice President of Flora and Fauna International [8] and a member of the development board of Artes Mundi.
Goodman was appointed Deputy Chairman and a Trustee of Prince's Trust International in 2016. [9]

Nursultan Abishuly Nazarbayev is a Kazakh politician and military officer who served as the first President of Kazakhstan, in office from the country’s independence in 1991 until his formal resignation in 2019, and as the Chairman of the Security Council of Kazakhstan from 1991 to 2022. He held the special title of Elbasy from 2010 to 2022. Nazarbayev was one of the longest-ruling non-royal leaders in the world, having led Kazakhstan for nearly three decades, excluding chairmanship in the Security Council after the end of his presidency. He has often been referred to as a dictator due to usurpation of power and autocratic rule. He was named First Secretary of the Communist Party of the Kazakh SSR in 1989 and was elected as the nation's first president shortly before its independence from the Soviet Union.

Dariga Nursultanqyzy Nazarbayeva is a Kazakh businesswoman and politician who is the daughter of the first President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. She served as a member of the lower house Mazhilis from 10 January 2021 until 25 February 2022, and previously from 15 January 2012 to 11 September 2015, 19 September 2004 to 20 June 2007 respectively. She was Deputy Chairwoman of Mazhilis from 2014 to 2015 until being appointed as a Deputy Prime Minister under Massimov's cabinet. In 2016, Nazarbayeva became a member Senate of Kazakhstan in 2016. She served as the Senate Chairwoman from 2019 to 2020. Nazarbayeva is the eldest daughter of Nursultan Nazarbayev who was the President of Kazakhstan from 1990 to 2019.
Erbolat Asqarbekūly Dosayev is a Kazakh politician serving as an äkım of Almaty since 31 January 2022. Prior to that, he was a National Bank of Kazakhstan chairman from 25 February 2019 and served as a Deputy Prime Minister from 29 August 2017 to 25 February 2019. He served as the Minister of Finance from 16 June 2003 to 5 April 2005, headed the Agency for Regulating Natural Monopolies, and later as the Health Minister from 5 April 2004 to 20 September 2006. In January 2013, Dosaev was appointed head of a reorganized Minister of National Economy.

Karim Qazhymqanuly Massimov is a politician who served as a Prime Minister of Kazakhstan from 10 January 2007 to 24 September 2012 and again from 2 April 2014 to 8 September 2016.
Zamanbek Qalabayuly Nurkadilov was a Kazakh politician who served as the head of Almaty in Kazakhstan and Minister of Emergency Situations in the Nazarbayev administration. In March 2004, he began to strongly criticize President Nursultan Nazarbayev. On 11 November 2005, three weeks before the 2005 presidential election, someone shot him twice in the chest and once in the head. The Government of Kazakhstan ruled his death a suicide, but Radio Free Europe alleges he is the victim of an assassination. Which led people many believe that Nazarbayev was responsible for the assassination.
Ermukhamet Qabidenuly Ertisbaev is a Kazakh politician and diplomat who has served as the chairman of the People's Party of Kazakhstan since 27 March 2022. Prior to that, he served as the Kazakh ambassador to Belarus from November 2017 to August 2019 and to Georgia from April 2013 to November 2017.
Amanat, previously known as Nur Otan until 2022, is a political party in Kazakhstan. Being the largest to date, it has been the ruling party of the country from 1999, with a membership claiming to be of over 762,000 people in 2007. Amanat is led by Erlan Qoşanov since 26 April 2022.
Marat Mukhanbetkazyuly Tajin is a Kazakh politician. He served as the Foreign Minister in the Government of Kazakhstan from 2007 to 2009. He previously served as Secretary of the National Security Committee (NSC). In September 2009 he was named an advisor to President Nursultan Nazarbayev and secretary of Kazakhstan's Security Council. Marat Tajin was appointed First Deputy Head of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in January 2017.

Mukhtar Qabyluly Ablyazov is a Kazakh businessman and political activist who served as chairman of Bank Turan Alem, and is a co-founder and a leader of the unregistered political party Democratic Choice of Kazakhstan (QDT). He was also the former head of the state-owned Kazakhstan Electricity Grid Operating Company (KEGOC) as well as briefly holding the position of Minister for Energy, Industry, and Trade under Balgimbayev's cabinet before resigning from and joining the opposition against President Nursultan Nazarbayev. In November 2001, he, along with other former Kazakh government officials founded the Democratic Choice of Kazakhstan (QDT). As result, Ablyazov was imprisoned in March 2002 over accusations of financial fraud and political abuse until being pardoned by Nazarbayev in 2003. After being released from prison, he ceased his formal political activities with the opposition.
Nazarbayev University (NU) is an autonomous research university in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. Founded as a result of the initiative of the first President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev in 2010 (June), it is an English-medium institution, with an international faculty and staff.

The Khabar Agency (KA) (Kazakh: "Хабар" Агенттігі, romanized: "Xabar" Agenttıgı; Russian: Агентство «Хабар») is a major media outlet in Kazakhstan. It was established in 1995, known originally as the National Television News Agency (Khabar is News in Kazakh). It is currently one of the largest networks in the country, and broadcasts daily in Kazakh and Russian. Additionally, Khabar runs the satellite channel Jibek Joly TV, which is potentially available across Europe and Asia. It features programming in English, Kazakh and Russian.
Abish Kekilbayev was a Kazakh National writer and politician who served as a Senator of Kazakhstan from 2002 to 2010, State Secretary of Kazakhstan from 1996 to 2002, and the Supreme Council Chairman from 1994 until its dissolution in 1995.
Legislative elections were held in Kazakhstan on 20 March 2016. The date was set by president Nursultan Nazarbayev on 20 January 2016, when he dissolved the Mazhilis after it had requested dissolution on 13 January, with the reason cited being the economic crisis caused by low oil prices. Normally, the term of the Mazhilis would have expired in fall of 2016.
Serikbolsyn Abdildauly Abdildin was a Kazakh economist, politician, First Secretary of the Communist Party from 1996 to 2010, member of the Mazhilis from 1999 to 2004 and a candidate in the 1999 presidential election. He is often described as "patriarch" for the formation of parliamentarism and the first-drafted Kazakh Constitution in early years of independence. While proclaiming himself as a Communist, Abdildin was vivid supporter for democracy and has called for reforms for a multi-party system with a rule of law.
Aisultan Rakhatuly Nazarbayev was a Kazakh football player, businessman, grandson of the former President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and a son of the Kazakh politician Dariga Nazarbayeva.
Hungarian-Kazakhstan relations are foreign relations between Hungary and Kazakhstan. Hungary has an embassy in Astana and four honorary consulates. Kazakhstan has an embassy in Budapest. Diplomatic relations between the countries were established on 2 April 1992. Due to the shared historical, cultural, and linguistic traits, the country became one of the most important socio-economic partners of Hungary.
