Russell H. Jackman (born c. 1929) was a Canadian curler. He was the lead of the 1953 Brier Champion team (skipped by Ab Gowanlock), representing Manitoba. [1] [2] A member of the Dauphin, Manitoba Elks of Canada branch [3] He served as "Grand Exalted Ruler" of the organization from 1974 to 1975. [4]
He was inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame in 2019. [5]

The Winnipeg Wesmen are the athletic teams that represent the University of Winnipeg in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. As an undergraduate school, the Wesmen participate in the sports of basketball, volleyball, and soccer in both the men's and women's divisions of U Sports. All home games are played at the Duckworth Centre, located on the university's downtown Winnipeg campus. The Wesmen also compete in men's baseball, and are a single-sport member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
Thomas Christian "Tomcat" Johnson was a Canadian professional ice hockey player and executive. As a player, he played for the Montreal Canadiens and Boston Bruins in the National Hockey League. He later served as the assistant manager of the Bruins and the Bruins' coach. Johnson was the recipient of the Norris Trophy in 1959. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1970.
Mount de Sales Academy (MDS) is a Catholic, independent, college preparatory school in Macon, Georgia. It was originally founded in 1876 by five Sisters of Mercy, an order of nuns, as a boarding school for girls. It is the oldest independent school in Middle Georgia and the first to racially integrate. The school is located within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Savannah, operating on an independent basis.
The Canadian Junior Curling Championships is an annual curling tournament held to determine the best junior-level curling team in Canada. Junior level curlers must be under the age of 21 as of June 30 in the year prior to the tournament.
Jack Jacobs, nicknamed "Indian Jack", was an American and Canadian football player in the National Football League and Western Interprovincial Football Union. He was a charter member of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame, inducted in 1963.
William Juzda was a Canadian professional ice hockey Defenceman from Winnipeg, Manitoba. He played with the Toronto Maple Leafs and New York Rangers of the National Hockey League (NHL) and won two Stanley Cups with the Leafs in 1949 and 1951. Not a prolific goal scorer, Juzda built a reputation as one of hockey's hardest hitters. He is best known for ending Toe Blake's NHL Career in the 1947-48 NHL season.
Joseph Benjamin Keeper was a Canadian long-distance runner, and a member of the 1912 Canadian Olympic team.
Leo Ezerins was a linebacker who played ten seasons in the Canadian Football League for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
Chester "Ches" McCance, was a Canadian football wide receiver and placekicker who played thirteen seasons in professional gridiron football, mainly for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. In 1976 he was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame and in 2004 he was inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame and Museum.
James Trifunov was a Canadian freestyle sport wrestler who competed in the 1924 Summer Olympics, in the 1928 Summer Olympics, and in the 1932 Summer Olympics. His parents Mr. and Mrs. Rade Trifunov came from Jarkovac, Austria-Hungary, now Serbia, to Canada in March 1902 and settled in Truax, Saskatchewan, where James was born the following year.

Thomas Lewis Gage was an American Hammer Thrower from Billings, Montana. Gage graduated from Cornell University in 1965. During the late 1960s to the early 1970s he was in the top 10 among American hammer throwers for 10 years including achieving number 1 in 1972. He won the gold medal at the 1967 Pan American Games in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and was a finalist in the 1972 Olympics in Munich, Germany, ultimately finishing 12th. His personal best was 71.17, set in 1971.
Paul Brule is a former football player who starred at St. Francis Xavier University in the 1960s before playing professionally in the Canadian Football League. In March 2018, it was announced that Brule would be inducted in to the Canadian Football Hall of Fame class of 2018.
Ivy Granstrom was a blind Canadian Masters athlete. She is the current world record holder for the W85 3000 metres and 10000 metres. The accommodation to allow her to be guided through her open competitions set the rules for such competitions where she ran tethered to a guide, Paul Hoeberigs, but it was clear she was exerting the effort.
Harry Langford was a Canadian football player who played for the Calgary Stampeders. He is a member of the Calgary Stampeders Wall of Fame and the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame.
Wilbur Paul "Bud" Marquardt was a Canadian football player who played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He won the Grey Cup with them in 1939 and 1941 and is a member of the Blue Bombers Hall of Fame. He attended North Dakota State University, where he is also a member of their hall of fame. In 2004, he was inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame.
