Russell H. Jackman (born c. 1929) was a Canadian curler. He was the lead of the 1953 Brier Champion team (skipped by Ab Gowanlock), representing Manitoba. [1] [2] A member of the Dauphin, Manitoba Elks of Canada branch [3] He served as "Grand Exalted Ruler" of the organization from 1974 to 1975. [4]
He was inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame in 2019. [5]

Debra Elaine Sapenter, is an American athlete who competed mainly in the 400 meters. She was born in Prairie View, Texas. In 1975 she was rated as the number one 400 meter women's sprinter in the United States. She competed for United States in the 1976 Summer Olympics, held in Montreal, in the 4 × 400 metres relay where she won the silver medal with her teammates Sheila Ingram, Pamela Jiles and Rosalyn Bryant.
The Michelin Pilot Challenge is a grand touring and touring car racing series run by the International Motor Sports Association. Originating from the Canadian Motorola Cup, the series was taken over by Grand-Am in 2001 to become the Grand-Am Cup following the demise of rival IMSA's Firehawk series of similar rules in the US. KONI became series sponsor for the start of the 2007 season when the series became known as the KONI Challenge Series, before renaming once more prior to the start of the 2009 season as the KONI Sports Car Challenge. The series name was once again changed for the 2010 season to Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge. In 2019, the series rebranded again after Michelin was selected to become the new official tire supplier of the series and thus simplified their branding name by removing Sports Car term.

Thomas Lewis Gage was an American Hammer Thrower from Billings, Montana. Gage graduated from Cornell University in 1965. During the late 1960s to the early 1970s he was in the top 10 among American hammer throwers for 10 years including achieving number 1 in 1972. He won the gold medal at the 1967 Pan American Games in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and was a finalist in the 1972 Olympics in Munich, Germany, ultimately finishing 12th. His personal best was 71.17, set in 1971.

The 2016 Manitoba general election was held on April 19, 2016, to elect members to the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, Canada. The New Democratic Party of Manitoba, led by Greg Selinger, were defeated by the Progressive Conservative Party of Manitoba led by Brian Pallister, ending nearly 17 years of NDP government. James Oddie Welsh was a Canadian curler. He was the skip of the 1947 Brier Champion team, representing Manitoba. A member of the Deer Lodge Curling Club in Winnipeg, he was also a three-time provincial champion. He died in 1988 and was buried at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Winnipeg.
John Knight Reid was a Canadian curler. He was a member of 1947 Brier Champion team, playing as second, representing Manitoba. A member of the Deer Lodge Curling Club in Winnipeg, he was also a three-time provincial champion. He retired in 1958 and died in 1965.
Harry A. Monk, Sr. was a Canadian curler. He was a member of 1947 Brier Champion team, playing as lead, representing Manitoba. A member of the Deer Lodge Curling Club in Winnipeg, he was also a three-time provincial champion.
