S. Ganeshamoorthy of Sri Lanka was a former MP & Deputy Minister of Ethnic affairs, National Integration & Mineral Resources. [1] He is a strong Tamil person in the east. He contested in the 2000 General election and was able to secure a seat in Batticaloa District. The majority of the district development occurred during his political period.

Tamil Makkal Viduthalai Pulikal (TMVP), previously known as the "Karuna Group", is a political party in Sri Lanka. It was formed by Karuna Amman, a former leader of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, after he defected from the organization in 2004.
