Shettihalli Timmegowda Somashekhar Gowda [2] is an Indian politician who was the Minister of State for Co-Operation of Karnataka from 6 February 2020 until 13 May 2023. He was elected to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly from Yeshvanthapura in the 2018 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election as a member of the Indian National Congress. [3] [4] [5] [6] He later switched to the Bharatiya Janata Party and won the by-election in 2019. [7] He got re-elected on a BJP ticket in the 2023 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election. As of 19 August 2023,speculations are rife that he may switch back to his old party,the INC,amidst allegations that local BJP leaders are hindering his political growth. [8]
Siddaramaiah,also referred to by his nickname Siddu,is an Indian politician who is serving as the 22nd Chief Minister of Karnataka since 2023. He also held that position previously from 2013 to 2018,being only the second person to hold that office for a full five-year term. He belongs to the Indian National Congress and is presently the leader of the Congress Legislative Party. He represented the Varuna Assembly constituency from 2023,previously from 2008 to 2018,Badami Assembly constituency from 2018 to 2023,and from Chamundeshwari Assembly constituency from 2004 to 2007,1994 to 1999 and from 1983 to 1989 in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. He served as the Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka from 1996 to 1999 and from 2004 to 2005 while he was a member of the Janata Dal and Janata Dal (Secular). He also served as the Leader of the Opposition in Karnataka Legislative Assembly on two occasions from 2019 to 2023 and from 2009 to 2013. Siddaramaiah was a member of various Janata Parivar factions for several years.
Dr. Chikkegowda Narayanagowda is an Indian social activist,politician who formerly served as Minister of Sericulture,Youth empowerment and sports of Karnataka from January 2021 to May 2023.
R. Roshan Baig is a former seven-time member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly and Minister from South Indian state of Karnataka. He has also been vice-chairman of the Al-Ameen Educational Society. A seven-time MLA,from 1984 to 1994 he was the member of the Janata Party for the first two terms as the MLA and from 1994 to 2019 he was the member of the Indian National Congress for 5 of his MLA terms. Baig was suspended from the Indian National Congress in 2019 after he insulted top Congress leaders for the party's poor performance in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls,Roshan Baig had held former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's "arrogance" and Dinesh Gundu Rao's "immaturity" responsible for the "flop show". He was also blamed for praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiatives for inclusive development.
Doddalahalli Kempegowda Shivakumar,also known by his initials as D. K. Shivakumar,is an Indian politician who is the 9th and Current Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka and also Water resources and Bengaluru Development and Town Planning &Bengaluru Urban District Incharge Minister since 20 May 2023 as a member of the Indian National Congress. He is also the President of the Karnataka PCC since 2020 and was the Working President from 2008 to 2010. He was the cabinet minister in the Government of Karnataka from 2014 to 2019. He represented the Kanakapura constituency in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly since 2008 and from Sathanur Assembly constituency from 1989 to 2004.

By-elections to fifteen state assembly constituencies were held in Karnataka on 5 December 2019,and results were announced on 9 December. BJP,the ruling party,needed to win 6 out of the 15 seats to maintain its majority. It won 12 out of 15 seats. Congress won two,JD(S) failed to open its account,and one seat was won by a rebel BJP leader who contested as an independent.

He was elected to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly from Yellapura in the 2018 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election as a member of the Indian National Congress but switched to Bharatiya Janata Party in 2019 and won the by-elections in December 2019.

He was elected to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly from Chikkaballapur in the 2018 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election as a member of the Indian National Congress and later was re-elected to the house in 2019 as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He also contested in 2023 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election in Chikballapur from BJP but lost to INC Candidate Pradeep Eshwar. In March 2024,he was announced as the BJP candidate from the Chikballapur Constituency for the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections.

He became second time MLA in 2018 general elections from congress. In 2019 after his resignation,he contested from BJP in by election and won with a huge margin. Later he became minister for Urban Development in B S Yediyurappa cabinet and second term minister in Basavaraj Bommai cabinet.He won as 4th term MLA in 2023 assembly elections.
