SIGAL UNIQA Group AUSTRIA is a group of seven insurance companies and one private pension fund that operates in Albania, Kosovo and North Macedonia.

Founded in 1999, SIGAL UNIQA is a major player in the Albanian insurance market, holding a significant share in various sectors. [2] [3]

SIGAL UNIQA was among the first insurance companies in Albania to receive foreign investment in 2003. The Albanian-American Fund of Enterprise (AAEF) became SIGAL's first shareholder with the acquisition of 13.3% of the shares.Thanks to this agreement, AAEF provided financial and management support not only to SIGAL, but also to the entire insurance market in Albania and in the region where it operates. In 2007, the company became part of the UNIQA Group, a large European financial group operating in 21 countries. The company was awarded with an "A" by "Standard & Poor's" global rating, with 24.6billion Euro under its management and more than 7.5million clients. UNIQA Group AUSTRIA is the biggest stakeholder of SIGAL UNIQA Group AUSTRIA as it holds 68.64% of shares. Based on this, more than 80% of SIGAL UNIQA's capital derives from foreign investments. [5]

Internationally, the SIGAL UNIQA Group AUSTRIA has been continually described by Finance Central Europe as "The Best Insurance Company in Albania". SEE News listed SIGAL UNIQA among the top insurance companies in the region and Business Initiative Directions awarded SIGAL UNIQA with the "International Star for Quality", [6] a vanity award.
