Saba Masoumian

Saba Masoumian (born 1982) is an Iranian artist who lives and works in Italy. [1]

She was born in Tehran and received a BA in graphic design from Azad University. [1] Masoumian went on to study painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna. [2]

She has had solo shows in Tehran and Dubai and her work was included in several group exhibitions in Bologna. Masoumian also participated in the Biennale Giovani in Monza, the Dimension of Civilization conference at the Yinchuan Museum of Contemporary Art [2] and the show "1001 colors: Contemporary Art from Iran" in New York City. [1]

She has received the Premio Ora awarded in Verona in 2015 [3] and the Golden Pen Award at the Belgrade Biennial of Illustrations in 2007. [1]

Bita Fayyazi is an Iranian artist and pioneer in the field of Iranian public art projects. She is known for her theatrical, large-scale work. Fayyazi currently lives, works and teaches at a private studio in Tehran.

Mania Akbari Iranian actress and film director

Mania Akbari is an Iranian filmmaker, artist, writer and actress whose works explore women's rights, marriage, sexual identity, disease and body image. Her style, in contrast to the long tradition of melodrama in Iranian cinema, is rooted in the visual arts and autobiography. Because of the taboo themes frankly discussed in her films and her opposition to censorship, she is considered one of the most controversial filmmakers in Iran. As an actress, she is probably best known for playing the lead role in Abbas Kiarostami's Ten (2002).

Riyas Komu

Riyas Komu born in Kerala is a critically acclaimed multimedia artist and curator based in Mumbai. He has invested his time in art education and developing art infrastructure in India. Komu's works are inspired by social conflicts and political movements and topics like migration and displacement. His hyper-realistic oil portraits of people resemble socialist-realist propaganda art and indeed one of his portraits is strikingly titled “Why Everybody should Look Like Mao”. In 2007, Komu was one of two artists from India selected for the 52nd Venice Biennale by curator Robert Storr. Later, he went on to represent the Iranian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 2015. Komu also participated in the Jogja Biennale, Indonesia, 2011. Riyas born in 1971 in a small town in Thrissur District of Kerala. He lives and works in Mumbai.

Hanieh Mohammad Bagher is an Iranian artist based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Her work is influenced between the intersection of painting, inlay, sculpture, and spatial analysis.

Mandana Moghaddam is an Iranian-Swedish contemporary visual artist whose installation work was most notably exhibited in the 51st Venice Biennale. Affected by the Iranian Revolution, Moghaddam was granted asylum in Gothenburg, Sweden where she continues to work to this day. Her work covers such themes as alienation, communication, and gender. Working with these themes, Moghaddam creates works that attempt to bridge cultural boundaries, inspire intercultural dialogue, and memorialize oftentimes contentious aspects of Iranian life.

Golnaz Fathi is an Iranian contemporary artist noted for her artwork in the hurufiyya tradition.

Amineh Kazemzadeh is an Iranian painter. She studied and trained as a painter in Tehran University's art classes in the 1990s, but soon shifted towards sculptures, working with a variety of materials such as stone, wood, bronze, fiber and textile, and techniques commonly regarded as feminine practices, like weaving, sewing and knitting. Her works mainly represent her concerns with cultural issues and challenges in her homeland, Iran, with regards to its heritage and traditions, modernization, and gender policies. Her works were included and displayed in more than 30 group exhibitions and two solo exhibitions in Iran and Greece in art galleries such as Saba Art Gallery, Iran Artists Organizations, Imam Ali Museum, Textile Arts Factory as well as Shirin. She has received several national and international awards and is currently a member of the Iranian Sculptors' Association.
