Cox's Bazar is a district in the Chittagong Division of Bangladesh. It is named after Cox's Bazar town. It is located 150 kilometres (93 mi) south of Chittagong. Cox's Bazar is also known by the name Panowa. Another old name was Palongkee. The modern Cox's Bazar derives its name from Captain Hiram Cox, an army officer who served in British India. It is one of the fishing ports of Bangladesh. At Cox's Bazar is one of the world's longest natural sea beaches.

Nicco Park is an amusement park located in Jheel Meel, Sector - IV of Bidhannagar, West Bengal, India. The park was created to attract tourists to the state by providing family-friendly recreation as well as educative entertainment. Nicco Park opened on 13 October 1991 and has since been referred to as the Disneyland of West Bengal. Presently, the 40 acre park is home to over 35 different attractions and has served over 24 million customers. Nicco Park also provides a "green" environment.
The Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) is an agency of the Government of Bangladesh and is administered under the jurisdiction of the Prime Minister's Office. Its objective is to manage the various export processing zones in Bangladesh. BEPZA currently oversees the operations of eight export processing zones (EPZ). A ninth zone is scheduled to open in the future. Recently government has announced that in 15 years 100 new EPZ and SEZ will be established. Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, ndc, psc is the current Executive Chairman of BEPZA. The Government provides numerous incentives for investors for opening factories in EPZs. For example, new factories enjoy tax holidays for 5 years. Also, labour unions and other activities that are often viewed detrimental to productivity, are banned inside the EPZs. In order to stimulate rapid economic growth of the country, particularly through industrialization, the government has adopted an 'Open Door Policy' to attract foreign investment to Bangladesh. The BEPZA is the official organ of the government to promote, attract and facilitate foreign investment in the EPZs. Besides, BEPZA as the competent Authority performs inspection & supervision of the compliances of the enterprises related to social & environmental issues, safety & security at work place in order to maintain harmonious labour-management & industrial relations in EPZs. The primary objective of an EPZ is to provide special areas where potential investors would find a congenial investment climate free from cumbersome procedures. Bangladesh's export revenue in FY23 is $55.55 billion, the highest amount ever.
Cox's Bazar International Airport is an international airport in the resort town of Cox's Bazar in Bangladesh. It is in the process of being upgraded to an international airport. The airport serves the residents of Cox's Bazar as well as tourists to the region. Cox's Bazar Airport is undergoing massive expansion, which is due to be completed by 2023.
Teknaf is an upazila of Cox's Bazar District in the Division of Chittagong, Bangladesh. It forms the southernmost point in mainland Bangladesh. The name of the region comes from the Naf River which forms the Eastern boundary of the upazila. It shares a border with Myanmar, opposite the town of Maungdaw.

The N1 or Dhaka–Chittagong Highway is a main transportation artery in Bangladesh, between Dhaka, Comilla and Chittagong. Approximately 465 kilometres in length, the road links the country's two largest cities, Dhaka and Chittagong. The highway is known along various stretches as the Chittagong–Cox's Bazar Highway and the Cox's Bazar–Teknaf Highway. Currently four lanes with an eight-lane expansion underway, the N1 is the busiest road in the country and a top development priority. Construction of a larger Dhaka-Chittagong expressway has been proposed to decrease traffic on the highway.
The Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority or BEZA is an agency of the government of Bangladesh tasked with developing special economic zones. It was create in 2010. Shaikh Yusuf Harun was appointed executive chairman of the authority in July 2021.
Cox’s Bazar–Teknaf Marine Drive is an 80-kilometre-long road from Cox’s Bazar to Teknaf along the Bay of Bengal and it is the world’s longest marine drive. It was inaugurated on 6 May 2017, by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Naf Tourism Park is a proposed economic zone in Jaliardwip island, Cox's Bazar. Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) is developing this as part of its plan to develop 100 special economic zones throughout the country. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved the project on 6 May 2015. As of 2023, construction work on the project has been indefinitely halted due to objections raised by Myanmar regarding the dredging of sand from the nearby Naf river. Consequently, BEZA has reached out to China, requesting investment and the appointment of a new contractor to facilitate the resumption of construction activities.
Leda makeshift settlement is a refugee camp constructed for Rohingya refugees on government-owned land in Nhilla Union of the Teknaf sub-district in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh. The camp is located some 15 km (9.3 mi) from Teknaf town.
Cox's Bazar-4 is a constituency represented in the Jatiya Sangsad of Bangladesh since 2019 by Shahin Akhtar of the Awami League.
The 1994 Bangladesh cyclone was a powerful tropical cyclone in the Bay of Bengal. The cyclone closely followed the path, strength, and time of year of a deadly cyclone in 1991 that killed more than 138,000 people. The 1994 cyclone formed on April 29 as a depression, which organized and intensified significantly over the subsequent few days. On May 2, the cyclone attained winds of 215 km/h (135 mph), according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). That day, the storm made landfall in southeastern Bangladesh, and rapidly weakened over land, before dissipating on May 3.
Teknaf Beach is a part of Cox's Bazar Beach, located at Teknaf Upazila of Cox's bazar district. Teknaf beach is surrounded by the Teknaf peninsula mangrove area. This beach is divided into sections; Shamlapur Beach, Shilakhali Beach, Hajampara Beach, and Shapuree Island Beach.
Sayeman Beach Resort is a five-star seaside resort located by Kolatoli Square in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh. It is the successor of Sayeman Hotel, the first private hotel of the city. The construction of the resort was started initially in 2013 and completed in 2015.
Jaliardwip is an island in Teknaf upazila, Chittagong division in south-eastern Bangladesh covering an area of 271.93 acres. It is an island on the Naf River which demarcates the border between Bangladesh and Myanmar. 21.12 acres of land on the island belongs to the Forest Department. The location was designated as the site for Naf Tourism Park by the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority. However, progress on the project has been suspended since 2023.
