The Sacred Heart men's lacrosse team represents Sacred Heart University in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I men's lacrosse. The Pioneers started up a varsity level team in 1991. Home games are played at Campus Field in Fairfield, Connecticut. [2]

History

Sacred Heart competes as a member of the MAAC conference, they moved from the Northeast Conference in 2023, and previously were in the CAA.

In 2024, Sacred Heart earned their first Conference Championship and NCAA tournament invitation. They lost to University of Albany 13-7 in the NCAAs. Pioneers were unbeaten in MAAC conference play in 2024.

Sacred Heart has an all-time record of 162 wins and 224 losses (.420).

The 2013 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship was the 43rd annual single-elimination tournament to determine the national championship for National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I men's college lacrosse. Sixteen teams were selected to compete in the tournament based upon their performance during the regular season, and for some, by means of a conference tournament automatic qualifier. The Divisions I men’s lacrosse committees announced the matchups on 5 May 2013. Duke defeated Loyola, Notre Dame, Cornell, and Syracuse to capture to their second NCAA Championship.

The Monmouth Hawks men's lacrosse team represents Monmouth University in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I men's lacrosse. Monmouth currently competes as a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and plays its home games at Kessler Stadium in West Long Branch, New Jersey. Monmouth made its first NCAA tournament appearance in 2017 and returned to the tournament in 2021.

The Saint Joseph's men's lacrosse team represents Saint Joseph's University in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I men's lacrosse. The Hawks were elevated to the varsity level in 1992 after competing several years at club level. Starting in 2023, Hawks began playing in the newly established Atlantic 10 Conference men's lacrosse conference. They play home games at Sweeney Field in Wynnefield, Philadelphia

The 2015 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship was the 45th annual single-elimination tournament to determine the national championship for National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I men's college lacrosse. Eighteen teams competed in the tournament, selected by winning an automatic qualifying conference tournament or as an at-large team based upon their performance during the regular season. The 18 teams were announced on May 3.

Shaun Hannah is a Canadian ice hockey coach and former player. He is currently director and coach of the Yale University 8-U and learn-to-skate programs. Previously he was the head coach for Sacred Heart during their transition from Division III to Division I and the shift from the MAAC to Atlantic Hockey.
