2015 Tanzanian general election

The Tanzanian general election of 2015 was the 5th quinquennial election to be held since the restoration of the multi-party system in 1992. Voters elected the president, members of Parliament, and local government councillors. By convention, the election was held on the last Sunday of October and was supervised by the National Electoral Commission (NEC). Political campaigns commenced on 22 August and ceased a day before the polling day.

The Arumeru East by-election was a by-election held for the Tanzanian parliamentary constituency of Arumeru East. It was triggered by the death of Jeremiah Sumari, the previous Member of Parliament (MP) who had held the seat for the Chama Cha Mapinduzi since 2005. The by-election took place on 1 April 2012 and the Chadema candidate won by 54.92%.

2015 Tanzanian parliamentary election

The Tanzanian parliamentary election of 2015 was held concurrently with the general election on 25 October 2015. Voting took place in all the 265 constituencies in order to elect Members of Parliament (MPs) to seats in the National Assembly.

Esther Matiko is a Tanzanian politician belonging to the opposition Chama cha Demokrasia na Maendeleo (CHADEMA) party. She is a Member of Parliament for Tarime Urban.

General elections were held in Tanzania on 28 October 2020 to elect the President and National Assembly. The presidential election was won by incumbent John Magufuli of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi party.
