Conditions on Port Phillip

Of the total of three race areas were needed during the Olympics in the Port Phillip Bay. Each of the classes was using the same scoring system. The center course was used for the Dragon.

Venezuela competed at the 1956 Summer Olympics held in Melbourne, Australia, and in the equestrian events held in Stockholm, Sweden. Twenty-two competitors, all men, were selected by the Venezuelan Olympic Committee to take part in sixteen events across five sports. The delegation featured no female competitors, for the second time, and won no medals. For each class seven races were scheduled from 26 November to 5 December 1956 at Port Phillip Bay.
