Saima Tiik (married name Kiviloo; born 22 January 1957) is an Estonian athletics competitor. [1]
She was born in Kohila, Rapla County. In 1975 she graduated from Estonian Sports Gymnasium (TSIK). [1]
She began athletics training under the guidance of Vello Varik. She is multiple-times Estonian champion in different athletics disciplines. 1972–1982 she was a member of Estonian national athletics team. [1]

At the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, 46 events in athletics were contested, 24 for men and 22 for women. There were a total number of 2,134 participating athletes from 193 countries.
Jaak Uudmäe is an Estonian former triple jumper and long jumper who competed for the Soviet Union. He was the gold medalist at the 1980 Summer Olympics. He set a personal best of 17.35 m in his Olympic victory – a mark which remains the Estonian record.
Remigija Nazarovienė is a retired Lithuanian heptathlete. She won the bronze medal at the 1997 World Championships and finished third at the 1998 IAAF World Combined Events Challenge. She won the Talence Decastar twice, in 1996 and 1997, and was runner-up in 1989 and 1998. She competed at three consecutive Olympic Games, three consecutive World Championships in Athletics, ad four straight editions of the European Athletics Championships.

At the 2000 Sydney Paralympics, she won a gold medal in the Women's Javelin F20 event and two bronze medals in the Women's High Jump F20 and Women's Shot Put F20 events. She received a letter from Estonian President Lennart Meri for her achievement.
Geraldina Rachel Asher-Smith, OLY is a British sprinter. She is the fastest British woman on record and has been listed in the Powerlist as one of the UK's most influential people of African-Caribbean descent, most recently in the 2021 edition. Asher-Smith won a gold medal in the 200 m, silver in the 100 m and another silver in the 4×100 m relay at the 2019 World Championships, breaking her own British records with further records which still stand. Aged 24, she was the first Briton to win three medals at a World Championships. In the relay event, she won medals in the 2016 Rio Olympics and 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and also in the 2013 and 2017 World Championships.

The 2021 European Athletics U23 Championships are the 13th edition of the biennial athletics competition between European athletes under the age of twenty-three. It was planned to be held in Bergen, Norway from 8 to 11 July., but this venue was cancelled for Covid pandemic reasons. Initially it was intended that the event would be postponed and held in another venue after the 2020 Olympic Games. Eventually the original dates were retained, and Tallinn, Estonia was chosen as the venue. This means that Tallinn will be hosting two age-group championships in successive weeks: after the European Athletics U23 Championships, the Kadriorg Stadium will also host between 15 and 18 July the European Athletics U20 Championships. For the first time in 13 editions, Italian team tops the medal table.
