The Saint Augustine Major Seminary or SASMA [1] is a Catholic, formation seminary of the Apostolic Vicariate of Calapan, Oriental Mindoro located in Tagaytay, Cavite, Philippines. The seminarians of SASMA attend to their academics at the Divine Word Seminary.
Mindoro is the seventh largest and eighth-most populous island in the Philippines. With a total land area of 10,571 km2, it has a population of 1,408,454, as of the 2020 census. Oriental Mindoro, officially the Province of Oriental Mindoro, is a province in the Philippines located on the island of Mindoro under Mimaropa region in Luzon, about 140 kilometres (87 mi) southwest of Manila. The province is bordered by the Verde Island Passage and the rest of Batangas to the north, by Marinduque, Maestre de Campo Island, Tablas Strait and the rest of Romblon to the east, by Semirara and the rest of Caluya Islands, Antique to the south, and by Occidental Mindoro to the west. Its provincial capital Calapan, the only city in the island, is the most-populous in the province, and Mimaropa's regional center.

Its capital is Mamburao, but the most populous municipality is San Jose. Sablayan is its largest municipality in terms of area, occupying almost half of the entire province. As of 2020, Occidental Mindoro has 525,354 inhabitants.

According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 153,267, representing a third of the provincial population, and is the largest among cities and municipalities in the Mimaropa region. It is also the most populous town in Occidental Mindoro.
Calapan, officially the City of Calapan, is a 3rd class component city and the capital of the province of Oriental Mindoro, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 145,786 people making it the most populous in Oriental Mindoro and second in the entire Mindoro Island after San Jose in Occidental Mindoro. The city is also the regional center of Mimaropa region, as well as its second biggest city.

The Divine Word Seminary Tagaytay (DWST) is a Roman Catholic mission seminary located in Tagaytay City, Philippines. Established in 1933, the seminary is owned and administered by the Society of the Divine Word. The primary purpose of the seminary is to prepare missionaries for both the Philippine and foreign missions. Its students are mostly seminarians preparing for the priesthood, and come from a cluster of around 14 autonomous affiliated houses of formation.
