The Saint Peter's Peacocks softball team represents Saint Peter's University in the NCAA Division I college softball. The team participates in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). The Peacocks are currently led by head coach Chris Stelma. The team plays its home games at Joseph J. Jaroschak Field located in Lincoln Park in Jersey City, New Jersey. [2]
Since joining the conference in 1981, Saint Peter's has won the MAAC regular season championship twice, doing so in 1996 in a tie with the Canisius Golden Griffins and in 2000. The Peacocks won the MAAC tournament championship in 2001, clinching a berth in the 2001 NCAA Division I softball tournament after defeating the Marist Red Foxes 2–0. [3]
In their first appearance in the NCAA tournament, the Peacocks faced off against Arizona. The Peacocks attempted a late-game comeback, scoring two runs in the top of the seventh inning, but were defeated by a score of 4–2. [4] The Wildcats, led by star pitcher Jennie Finch, would end up winning the 2001 Women's College World Series. [5] Saint Peter's were eliminated from the tournament by Texas Tech, losing in a 3–2 contest. [6]

The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I. Its current 11 full members are located in four Northeastern states: Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Maryland. It was announced on October 23, 2023 that Sacred Heart University and Merrimack College will join the conference beginning in the 2024-25 season.
Saint Peter's University is a private Jesuit university in Jersey City, New Jersey. Founded as Saint Peter's College in 1872 by the Society of Jesus, the university offers over 60 undergraduate and graduate programs to more than 2,000 undergraduate and 1,359 graduate students. Its mascot is the peacock and its sports teams play in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, of which it is a founding member.
The Saint Peter's Peacocks are the sixteen intercollegiate athletic teams that represent Saint Peter's University, located in Jersey City, New Jersey. The Peacocks compete in the NCAA Division I and are founding members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). They previously competed in the Metropolitan Collegiate Conference (MCC) from 1965 to 1969.
The Saint Peter's Peacocks men's basketball team is the NCAA Division I intercollegiate men's basketball program that represents Saint Peter's University in Jersey City, New Jersey. The school's team competes in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and plays their home games in Run Baby Run Arena. They are currently led by second-year head coach Bashir Mason, who was hired on April 12, 2022. The Peacocks have appeared in the NCAA tournament five times.

The Gaels are currently led by head coach Alyssa Tiumalu. The team plays its home games at the Donald E. Walsh Field at Rice Oval located on the university's campus.

The Monmouth Hawks softball team represents Monmouth University in NCAA Division I college softball. The team participates in the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA). From 1984 until 2013, the team was a member of the Northeast Conference (NEC). From 2014 until 2022, the team was a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). The Hawks are currently led by head coach Shannon Salsburg. The team plays its home games at Monmouth University Softball Park which is located on the college's campus.

The team currently participates in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), having joined in 1998. From 1978 until 1992, the team was a member of the now-defunct East Coast Conference (ECC). From 1992 until 1997, the team was a member of the Northeast Conference (NEC). The Broncs are currently led by head coach Davon Ortega. The team plays its home games at Herb & Joan Young Field, which is located on the college's campus.
The Siena Saints softball team represents Siena College in the NCAA Division I college softball. The team participates in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). From 1984 until 1989, the Saints were a member of the America East Conference (AEC). The Saints are currently led by head coach Casey Bump. The La Salle Explorers softball team represented La Salle University in NCAA Division I college softball from 1973 until 2021. From 1986 until 1992, the team was a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). From 1993 until 1995, the team was a member of the Midwestern Collegiate Conference (MCC). From 1995 until the school's final season in 2021, they were a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10). The Explorers were most recently led by interim head coach Sarah Prezioso. The team formerly played its home games at West Campus Field, which is located on the college's campus.
The Army Black Knights softball team represents the United States Military Academy in NCAA Division I college softball. The team participates in the Patriot League. From 1982 until 1990, the team was a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). The Black Knights are currently led by head coach Jen Consaul. The team plays its home games at Army Softball Complex located on the university's campus.
The 2019–20 Saint Peter's Peacocks men's basketball team represented Saint Peter's University in the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Peacocks, led by 2nd-year head coach Shaheen Holloway, played their home games at Yanitelli Center in Jersey City, New Jersey as members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They finished the season 18–12 overall, 14–6 in MAAC play to finish in second place. As the #2 seed in the MAAC tournament, they defeated #7 seed Iona 56–54 in the quarterfinals. However, the semifinals and championship game, and all postseason tournaments, were cancelled amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2020–21 Saint Peter's Peacocks men's basketball team represented Saint Peter's University in the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Peacocks were led by third-year head coach Shaheen Holloway. Due to renovations at their regular home arena, Yanitelli Center, they played their home games at John J. Moore Athletics Center, on the campus of New Jersey City University, as members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They finished the season 14–11, 10–8 in MAAC play to finish in a tie for third place. As the No. 3 seed in the MAAC tournament, they defeated No. 11 seed Rider in the quarterfinals, and then lost to No. 7 seed Fairfield 47–52 in the semifinals.
The 2021–22 Saint Peter's Peacocks men's basketball team represented Saint Peter's University in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Peacocks, led by fourth-year head coach Shaheen Holloway, played their home games at the Run Baby Run Arena in Jersey City, New Jersey, as members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). They finished the season 22–12, 14–6 in MAAC play, to finish in second place. They defeated Fairfield and Quinnipiac in the MAAC tournament, advancing to the championship game. There they defeated Monmouth to win the tournament championship. As a result, they received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, for the first time since 2011, as the No. 15 seed in the East region.
The 2022–23 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) men's basketball season began with practices in October 2022, followed by the start of the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season in November. Conference play started in December and concluded in March 2023. This was the 42nd season of MAAC basketball.
The 2023 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference men's basketball tournament was the postseason men's basketball tournament for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference for the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The tournament was played March 7–11, 2023, at the Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey, for the fourth year in a row. The tournament winner received the conference's automatic bid to the 2023 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. The defending champions were the Saint Peter's Peacocks.
