Salleh Mohammad Yasin is a Malaysian academic with expertise in microbiology. He was the director of the International Institute for Global Health based at the United Nations University in Kuala Lumpur from March 2007 until February 2013.
Mr. Salleh has served as vice-chancellor of the National University of Malaysia (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, UKM). In August 2006, he served as chairman and chief executive of the National Accreditation Board, Malaysia. He was the founder dean of faculty of Allied Health Sciences (1992–1995) at the National University of Malaysia. He has taught at UKM since 1974, and since 1992 has been a full professor in the UKM Department of Biomedical Science, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences. [1]
He is a graduate of Malay College Kuala Kangsar, and holds a Doctorandus degree from Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia and a Ph.D. from University of Bath, UK. [1]

Tuanku Ja’afar ibni Almarhum Tuanku Abdul Rahman was the tenth Yang di-Pertuan Agong (King) of Malaysia from 26 April 1994 until 25 April 1999 and the tenth Yang Di-Pertuan Besar (Ruler) of Negeri Sembilan.

Syed Muhammad al Naquib bin Ali al-Attas is a Malaysian Muslim philosopher. He is one of the few contemporary scholars who is thoroughly rooted in the traditional Islamic sciences and studies theology, philosophy, metaphysics, history, and literature. He pioneered the concept of Islamisation of knowledge. Al-Attas' philosophy and methodology of education have one goal: Islamisation of the mind, body and soul and its effects on the personal and collective life on Muslims as well as others, including the spiritual and physical non-human environment.

Syed Hussein Alatas was a Malaysian academic, sociologist, politician, and founder of social science organisations. He was Vice-Chancellor of the University of Malaya in the 1980s and formed the Parti Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia (Gerakan). Syed Hussein wrote several books on corruption, multi-racialism, imperialism, and intellectual captivity as part of the colonial, and postcolonial, project, the most famous being The Myth of the Lazy Native.
Mohamed Salleh bin Abas was a Malaysian judge and politician. He was a Lord President of the Federal Court of Malaysia. He was dismissed from his post during the 1988 Malaysian constitutional crisis. This action was condemned internationally and widely considered to be the event that triggered a marked reduction in the independence of the Malaysian judiciary.
Abdul Kadir Yusof was a Malaysian politician. A lawyer by profession, Abdul Kadir held the posts of Attorney General and Solicitor-General at various points during his lifetime. He was also the Minister of Law. Together with his wife Fatimah Hashim, former Welfare Minister, Abdul Kadir represented one half of the first couple to be on the Malaysian cabinet.
Malaysian Nature Society is the oldest and one of the most prominent environmental not for profit, non-governmental organisations in Malaysia. It was first established, as the Malayan Nature Society, with the launch of the Malayan Nature Journal, in 1940. Initially primarily as a scientific organisation, today MNS is involved in a wide range of environmental activities and campaigns. In 2008 MNS was awarded the inaugural Merdeka Award for the environment, primarily for its efforts in campaigning for the protection of the Belum-Temengor forests of Malaysia. MNS is a voluntary, membership-based organisation with approximately 3800 members.
Malin Kundang, also called Si Tanggang and Nakhoda Manis, is a mythical person who originates from a West Sumatran folktale about retribution to an ungrateful son. A sailor from a poor family, the protagonist sneaks onto a trading ship, eventually becoming rich, marrying a princess, and acquiring his own galleon. On his return to his home village, he is ashamed of his humble origins and refuses to recognize his elderly mother. In retaliation, she curses him, and when he sets sail, he and his ship are turned to stone.

She served as Special Advisor to the former Prime Minister of Malaysia Muhyiddin Yassin on Public Health from March 2020 to August 2021 and Under-Secretary General for Partnerships in the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) from January 2016 to 2020. Before joining the IFRC, she served as Chief of the Secretariat of the World Humanitarian Summit at the United Nations in New York, heading the humanitarian branch at the United National Population Fund, Chief of the Humanitarian Response Branch at UNFPA in 2011, President of the Malaysian Medical Relief Society from its foundation in June 1999 to a decade later in 2009. Mercy Malaysia is a medical charity she founded in June 1999, inspired by the Médecins Sans Frontières. In 2008, she was one of the 16 members appointed by Ban Ki-moon, the former Secretary-General of the United Nations to Advisory Group of the Central Emergency Response Fund.
Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz UKM or HCTM, formerly known as Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (HUKM), is one of the five university hospitals in Malaysia. It is located in Bandar Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur and is administered by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

The UKM Medical Molecular Biology Institute, usually referred to as UMBI, is a biomedicine and cancer research institute located in Bandar Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The institute is one of research institute in National University of Malaysia. UMBI was established in 2003. The institute has been recognized as a Center for Excellence in Higher Education (HICoE) in 2009 by the Prime Minister of Malaysia.
