The Salt Lake Lions [1] were a professional Ultimate Disc team in the Western Conference of the American Ultimate Disc League [2] (AUDL). The team was purchased on August 15, 2012 by Jonathan Orlofsky. The first Lions' games were scheduled for April 2014.

Originally, the AUDL had no plan to add a team in Utah due to their belief that there was low interest in Ultimate Disc for the area. Knowing that the AUDL wanted to have a Colorado team, Orlofsky proposed they add Salt Lake City as a venue in order to be able to include Denver. After careful review, the AUDL accepted the proposal in April 2012.

The first Salt Lake Lions' tryouts were held October 5 and 12, 2013.

After announcing a hiatus for the entire 2015 season, the rights to the team were purchased by the AUDL. The team was officially disbanded in 2016. [3]
