Salwa Zeidan is a Lebanese artist, sculptor, and curator.

Life

Zeidan was born in Bekaa Valley, Lebanon, Zeidan left Lebanon in the 1980s. Zeidan moved to the United Arab Emirates where she continued working as a painter. She curated exhibitions in different venues before she opened her Art Gallery in 1994. The Salwa Zeidan gallery is in Abu Dhabi. [1]

Salwa Mahmassani Maumann was a Lebanese women's rights activist and storyteller. She was born in Beirut. She studied elementary school at the Islamic Girls Charity Association School. I learned Arabic literature on Julia Tama, Salma Al - Sayyagh, and Arabic on Mustafa Al - Galayini. She continued her studies at Mar Yusuf School and learned French. She then taught Arabic for 13 years. Her literary articles were published in Arabic newspapers such as the Egyptian "New Woman." She was Vice-President of the Lebanon Women's University. She is one of the first leaders of the Lebanese women's movement. Her "With Life" (1956) is a story collection of 15 short stories dealing with social and family themes.

Salwa Mahmasani Momina (1908-1957) was a Lebanese women’s rights activist and novelist. She was born and raised in Beirut. She studied in Al-Makassed Philanthropic Islamic Association, a primary school for girls. She studied Arabic literature under Julia Ta’ma and Salma Sayegh, and she studied the Arabic Language under Mostafa Al-Ghailani. She then studied French at St. Joseph School. Later, she taught Arabic for 13 years. She published her literary articles in Arabic newspapers such as the Egyptian Almar’ah Aljadeedah “The New Woman”. She was the vice president of “Lebanese Women Association”. She was a pioneer in the Lebanese women’s movement. She wrote Ma’ Alhayah “With Life”; a collection that includes 15 short stories that discuss social and family issues.
