Sam Chang (Chinese name:Shen Leong Chang [1] ) is a Taiwanese-American businessman and developer in New York City.
A native of Taiwan,Chang dropped out of high school to help his parents manage a Los Angeles hotel. [2] Prior to becoming a developer in New York City,Chang operated hotels and restaurants in the suburbs of Baltimore,Maryland. His first New York project was in 1997. [2]
Chang is the chairman of McSam Hotel Group,and is one of the largest hotel developers in New York City. His company has completed 25 hotels in the five boroughs of New York City,with a stated goal of at least 50. He currently has 4,000 rooms under development for a variety of national hotel chains. [3] [4] He is the first Asian American to build a high-rise hotel in Manhattan. [5]
Many of Chang's hotels are designed by New York architects Gene Kaufman [6] and Michael Kang. Tritel Construction (of which he is a 50% partner) handles much of the construction. [2]
Chang was honored as a 2007 "Developer of the Year" by Hilton Hotels,for the multiple Hilton properties he is developing in Manhattan and Connecticut. [7] [8]
Chang has a 7.5 percent stake in Trump Entertainment Resorts. [3]
Chang has four children:Danny,Kevin,Jeffrey,and Jennifer. [9]
The Plaza Hotel is a luxury hotel and condominium apartment building in Midtown Manhattan in New York City. It is located on the western side of Grand Army Plaza,after which it is named,just west of Fifth Avenue,and is between 58th Street and Central Park South,at the southeastern corner of Central Park. Its primary address is 768 Fifth Avenue,though the residential entrance is One Central Park South. Since 2018,the hotel has been owned by the Qatari firm Katara Hospitality.

Golden Nugget Atlantic City is a hotel,casino,and marina located in Atlantic City,New Jersey. Having been opened in 1985 as Trump's Castle,it was renamed Trump Marina in 1997. Landry's,Inc. purchased the casino from Trump Entertainment Resorts in February 2011,and the sale was approved in late May. Landry's took control of the property on May 23,2011 and renamed it the Golden Nugget Atlantic City.

Stephen Frasier Bollenbach was a financial manager and former CEO and CFO for many hotel-related organizations. After working with financier Daniel K. Ludwig from 1968 to 1980,he oversaw mergers and acquisitions for various corporations such as the Marriott Corporation,Holiday Corporation,Harrah's Entertainment,the Trump Organization,Disney,and Hilton Hotels. He was on numerous corporate boards,including the non-executive chairman of Los Angeles-based KB Home and a member of the board of directors of Time Warner. 520 Fifth Avenue is a mixed-use supertall building under construction at Fifth Avenue and 43rd Street in the Midtown Manhattan neighborhood of New York City. The building occupies the former site of three structures. Mickey Rabina is developing the building,and architectural firm Kohn Pedersen Fox designed the structure and serves as architect of record. The interior design is by Charles &Co.
TSX Broadway is an under-construction 46-story mixed-use building on Times Square,at the southeastern corner of Broadway and 47th Street,in Midtown Manhattan,New York City. Developed by L&L Holding,the building will include a 669-room hotel,multi-story retail space,and an existing landmarked Broadway theater called the Palace Theatre. The TSX Broadway development involves the reconstruction of a DoubleTree hotel that was completed in 1991,as well as the lifting of the Palace Theatre at the former hotel's base. The framework of the hotel's first 16 stories remains largely intact,but the upper floors have been demolished. Work on the new structure began in 2019,and the building was completed in 2024.
