Samson Deen is a Ghanaian Hospitality,Communication and Sports Management consultant since 2003 who founded the African Origin Travels and Sports Tourism,AOG Construction Services and African Origin Group of Companies in 2017. [1] He is currently the President of the African Paralympic Committee. [2] [3]
Deen started his professional career in 1999 in different administrative positions with African Vision Movement,an NGO in Liberia and Green Card Solutions in 2001,a US-based company in Ghana. He is the CEO of African Origin Travel &Sports Tourism,a company that won the best company in the Sports Tourism sector for the year 2013 at the National Tourism Awards. [4] [5] [6] [7]
Deen began his sports journey as the Director of Operations of King Faisal Babes F.C. in the year 2009 to 2012. [8] He was later appointed as a member of the Asante Kotoko S.C. African Cup Committee on 6 June 2012 and again in 2013 to assist in planning and participation of the clubs regional campaign. [9] [10] [11]
Deen was selected as the Head of the Transport Sub Committee of the Local Organizing Committee of the 2023 African Games happening in Ghana in March 2024. [12] [13] [14]
He was elected the President of the Ghana Para Powerlifting Association on 9 November 2017 to lead the development of the sports as president. On 6 July 2019,he was later elected as president of the Ghana Paralympic Committee. [15]
On 31 October 2021 he was elected president of the African Paralympic Committee. [16] [17]
As the president of the African Paralympic Committee he presided over the first-ever 2023 African Para Games which was held in Accra,Ghana in 2023. [18] [19]
Charles Kweku Bismark Taylor Asampong is a former Ghanaian professional footballer who played as a striker or an attacking midfielder. He had his greatest playing days and is one of the few players to play for Accra Hearts of Oak S.C. and Asante Kotoko. As a kid,he was often called tailor,after his uncle who was a tailor as he used to help his uncle with work,hence,he adopted the name Charles Taylor after the former Liberian president. Nicknamed "Terror" due to his ability to terrorise opponents. He's arguably one of the greatest players to ever play the Ghana premier league and a key member of the famous "64 Battalion" squad of Accra Hearts of Oak S.C. that won the African Champions League in 2000 and consecutive Ghanaian league titles.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is the governing body of association football in Ghana and is based in Accra the capital of Ghana. Founded in 1957,the Association was dissolved by the Ghanaian Minister of Sport,Isaac Kwame Asiamah,on 7 June 2018,after the discovery of corruption in the association through investigative videos. In October 2019,a new president,Kurt Okraku,was elected as the association reconvened upon the completion of the work of the FIFA Normalization Committee. Mark Addo was later elected vice president in November 2019. Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has been re-elected as President of the Ghana Football Association during their 2023 Elective Congress in Tamale in the Northern region Ghana.
Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club,commonly referred to as Hearts of Oak or just Hearts,is a professional sports club based in Accra,Ghana. Founded in 1911,the club is the oldest surviving football club in Ghana and its traditional colours are red,yellow and blue. Hearts of Oak competes in the Ghana Premier League,the premier division on the Ghanaian football pyramid. The Accra Sports Stadium is the club's home grounds,where it plays its home games.
Asante Kotoko Sporting Club,simply known as Asante Kotoko,is a professional football club founded on 31 August 1935 and based in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Nicknamed the Porcupine Warriors,they compete in the Ghana Premier League and play their home matches at the Baba Yara Stadium in Amakom,Kumasi.
Maxwell Konadu is a football coach and a retired Ghana international football player. He is currently the coach of Black Leopards. Before his current post,he was formerly the manager of Glo Premier League club Asante Kotoko. Konadu was a member of the Men's National Team that won the bronze medal at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona,Spain. Hamza Mohammed is a Ghanaian former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He played for Real Tamale United for eight years before joining Kumasi Asante Kotoko in 2002. Mohammed also featured for the Ghana Black Starlets,Black Satellites,Black Meteors,and the Black Stars. He captained the Black Satellites in 1999 and was in the Black Stars squad that took part in the 2006 and 2002 African Cup of Nations. Mohammed was deputy captain of the Black Starlets squad for the 1997 FIFA U-17 World Championship. Mohammed is currently the Head Coach of Ghana Division One League club Tamale City Football Club.

The 13th African Games,also known as Accra 2023,were hosted by Ghana from 8–23 March 2024. Despite having Accra as the main host city,the games were held in two sub-host cities:Kumasi and Cape Coast. The games were initially planned to be held in August 2023,however a failure to complete facilities on time and arguments over marketing revenue resulted in the games being delayed to March 2024.

Henry Plange Nyemitei was a Ghanaian insurance manager and football administrator. He was president and chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak Football Club. During his stewardship,Hearts of Oak competed in the first edition of the Ghana Premier League in 1956 and became the first football club in Ghana to be elevated from amateur status to professional status in 1980. Nyemitei was chairman of the Ghana Football Association from 1966 to 1967 and 1968 to 1971.
