Samson Matam

Samson Ndicka-Matam (born 22 April 1976) [1] is a retired male weightlifter from Cameroon, who later represented France. [2] He competed in three consecutive Summer Olympics, starting in 1996 for Cameroon (Atlanta, Georgia). His best finish was the sixth place in the men's featherweight division (2004).

Three of his brothers are also international weightlifters who competed at the Olympic Games. That are Alphonse Hercule Matam (1992), David Matam (2004) and Bernardin Matam (2012).

Mahmoud Namjoo was an Iranian bantamweight weightlifter. He competed at the 1948, 1952 and 1956 Olympics and placed fifth, second and third, respectively. Namjoo was also the first Asian weightlifter to set a world record; during his career he set four: one in clean and jerk in 1949 and three in the total, in 1948, 1949 and 1951.
