Samuel (Sam) Hunter (born 14 September 1988 in Nottingham, England) is a retired British elite male artistic gymnast. Following his retirement, Hunter was appointed as an elite development coach by British Gymnastics. [1]

Hunter was part of the first Great Britain team ever to win a medal in the men's team event, a silver, at the European Artistic Gymnastics Championships in 2010.

2010

In 2010 Sam became the British All-Around champion with national squad teammate Daniel Purvis. At the European Championships in Birmingham, Sam was a valuable part of the British men's team who won the Silver medal in the team competition. This was the first time the men's team had made the team final. [2] The British men's team went on to compete in the 2010 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Rotterdam where they qualified in 4th and placed 7th in the team final. Sam qualified to the All-Around final where he finished 9th. [3]

2011

Sam competed in the AT&T American Cup, with fellow Brit Daniel Purvis.

Sam was chosen to compete for the British team at the European Championships in Berlin. The team did not have a great showing, and Sam did not qualify to any of the finals.

2010 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships

The 2010 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships was held at the Rotterdam Ahoy indoor sporting arena in the Netherlands from 16 to 24 October 2010. In this year's championships, there was a total of 73 participating federations with 615 gymnasts. 53 men's and 44 women's teams competed.

Sam Oldham British artistic gymnast

Sam Joshua Oldham is an English artistic gymnast who represents Great Britain. He was part of the British men's team at the 2012 Summer Olympics that won bronze in the team competition. Max Antony Whitlock is a British artistic gymnast. He is a five-time Olympic medallist, winning two golds and three bronzes, and an eight-time world medallist on the same apparatus with three gold and five silvers. He became Britain's first ever gold medallist in artistic gymnastics when he won both the men's floor and pommel horse exercises at the 2016 Summer Olympics. With twelve medals and five titles in Olympic and world championships, Whitlock is the most successful gymnast in his nation's history.

Daniel Purvis

Daniel Scott Purvis is a Scottish former international elite artistic gymnast, and three-time British all-around champion in men's artistic gymnastics. He trained at Southport YMCA and was coached by Jeff Brookes and Andrei Popov. He was part of the first British men's team to win a medal at a World Championships in 2015.

Kristian Thomas British artistic gymnast

Kristian James Thomas is a British former artistic gymnast. A long-standing member of both the England and Great Britain men's teams, he was a member of the British team that won gold in the 2012 European Championships team event, and a historic bronze in the same event at the 2012 Summer Olympics. He won his first global individual medal in the 2013 World Championships, a bronze in vault; it was also the first global medal ever won in vault by a British male gymnast. In 2015 he won his first major international title, gold in the floor exercise at the 2015 European Artistic Gymnastics Championships.

2011 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships

The 2011 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships were held in Tokyo, Japan, from October 7–16, 2011, at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium. Due to uncertainty over the nuclear situation following the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami, the International Federation of Gymnastics revealed it was considering moving the event, but on May 22 FIG president Bruno Grandi announced that the World Championships would take place in Tokyo as planned.

Ruby Harrold is a British artistic gymnast who was a member of the British Olympic team for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Harrold was also a reserve athlete for the 2012 Summer Olympics team. She was a member of the British team that won the bronze medal in the team final at the 2015 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. Following her retirement from elite gymnastics after the 2016 Summer Olympics, Harrold became a member of the LSU Tigers gymnastics team, having received a full athletic scholarship to attend Louisiana State University, beginning Fall of 2016.

Sam Mikulak American artistic gymnast

Samuel Anthony "Sam" Mikulak is an American artistic gymnast. He is a six-time U.S. national all-around champion, the 2018 World bronze medalist on high bar, and a two-time Olympian. He is also an eight-time NCAA champion, winning the team, individual all-around and several individual event titles at the 2011, 2013 and 2014 NCAA Men's Gymnastics championships.

Marcel Nguyen German artistic gymnast

Marcel Van Minh Phuc Long Nguyen is a German artistic gymnast. He is the 2012 Olympic silver medalist in the all-around and on parallel bars as well as the 2011 and 2012 European Champion on the latter. He has been a soldier in the Bundeswehr since July 2007, beginning when he was training in the Bundeswehr Sports Development Group in Munich.

Claudia Fragapane British artistic gymnast

Claudia Fragapane is a British artistic gymnast. She came to prominence at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, where she was the first English woman to win four gold medals since 1930. In 2015, Fragapane was part of the women's gymnastics team that won Great Britain's first-ever team medal, a bronze, at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. She competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Ellie Downie British artistic gymnast

Elissa Rebecca "Ellie" Downie is an artistic gymnast who represents Great Britain. She is the All-around 2017 European gymnastics champion, the first gymnast to win a major all-around title for Great Britain.

Nile Wilson British artistic gymnast

Nile Michael Wilson is a British artistic gymnast. He won an Olympic bronze medal in the men's horizontal bar at the 2016 Summer Olympics; he was a world medallist as a member of the silver-medal winning British team at the 2015 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, the first world men's team medal in British gymnastics history.

Courtney Tulloch British artistic gymnast

Courtney James Matthew Winston Tulloch is a British elite international artistic gymnast. Representing England, he is the Commonwealth Games Champion on rings, and a silver medallist on vault. Tulloch trains at Pegasus Gym Club under coach Ionut Trandaburu.

Alice Nicole Kinsella is an English artistic gymnast and member of the British national gymnastics team. She is the 2018 Commonwealth Games champion and 2019 European champion on the balance beam.
