Samuli Casimir Edelmann (born 21 July 1968) is a Finnish actor and singer.
Edelmann was born in Pori, Finland, the son of actress Marja-Leena Kouki and composer Toni Edelmann. He has two children with his ex-wife, Laura Tuomarila. In the spring of 2006, he and his family moved to Malta, and in late 2015, he and his family moved back to Finland. [1] In 2018, Edelmann divorced.
Edelmann graduated from the Theatre Academy of Finland in 1991. Before graduating, he had acted in three movies: Talvisota and two Vääpeli Körmy movies. His role of Vähy in the movie Veturimiehet heiluttaa in 1992, however, was what shot him to fame. Some of his other well-known roles include Patrick in Romanovin kivet (1993), Jussi Murikka in Häjyt (1999), Roope in Levottomat (2000), Aki in Minä ja Morrison (2001) and Tomppa in Rööperi .
In addition to movies, he has acted in the TV series Vintiöt and Irtiottoja . He has also dubbed numerous series and movies, such as Tanoshii Moomin Ikka (TV series) and the part of Shrek in the movie of the same name.
In 2011, he appeared in Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol in the role of henchman Wistrom.
Edelmann rose to fame as a singer in 1991 with his song "Pienestä kii". The same year, his song "Peggy" was a candidate for the Eurovision Song Contest; however, it did not become the Finnish entry that year. He sang a duet with Sani from Aikakone in 1995 called "Tuhat yötä", which was one of the most successful songs that year. Edelmann has also sung duets with Mikko Kuustonen, Laura Närhi, Cata Mansikka-aho, Mari Rantasila and Irina Björklund. Some of Edelmann's other songs include "(Sinä olet) Aurinko", which is commonly known as Ihana valo, "Kaikki tahtoo" and "Karavaanari".
Edelmann has also published an album by the name of Vaiheet, which has songs that his father, Toni Edelmann, has composed for texts by Hesse, Goethe, Shakespeare and Denisov.
Edelmann has been awarded three Emma awards: New Male Artist of the Year and two Artist of the Year awards. His three platinum and three gold albums make him one of Finland's best-selling male artists.

Ville Hermanni Valo is a Finnish singer, songwriter and musician. He is best known as the lead vocalist of the gothic rock band HIM.
Mikko Henrik Julius Paananen, better known as Mige, is a Finnish musician, best known as the bassist and founding member of the gothic rock band HIM. Born to an artistic family, Mige attended the Sibelius Upper Secondary School of music and dance, when he first formed HIM with Ville Valo. The band broke up after Mige began his national military service, but they reformed in 1995. HIM would go on to release eight studio albums and become one of the most commercially successful Finnish bands of all time. The band announced their retirement in March 2017, and played their final show on New Year's Eve 2017.
Zen Café was a Finnish rock band that was founded in Turku in 1992. The band derived its name from the book Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert M. Pirsig at the suggestion of band's bassist Kari Nylander. Other original members were Samuli Putro, Mikko Oesch (guitar) and Tuomo Mäkipaavola (drums). Oesch soon left the group and Mäkipaavola was replaced by Pete Parkkonen (drums). Their latest album Stop was released in 2006, after which the band began a long hiatus without officially disbanding. According to Putro, it is unlikely that the band will ever return as Zen Café.
Maija Johanna Vilkkumaa is a Finnish pop rock singer-songwriter. Beginning her musical hobbies playing piano at an age before school, Vilkkumaa studied in high school where she and her friends set up the band Tarharyhmä in 1990, which broke up in 1995. While studying Finnish language at the University of Helsinki, she started to take singing lessons and went on to start her solo career in 1999.

Finnish gothic rock band HIM has released eight studio albums, one live album, eight compilation albums, one EP, twenty-eight singles, three video albums, and twenty-nine music videos. Formed in 1991 by vocalist Ville Valo and bassist Mikko "Mige" Paananen under the name His Infernal Majesty, the band broke up in 1993, but was reformed in 1995 by Valo and guitarist Mikko "Linde" Lindström. After being rejoined by Mige, as well new additions keyboardist Antto Melasniemi, rhythm guitarist Oki and drummer Juhana "Pätkä" Rantala, the band, now called HIM, signed to BMG, and released the EP 666 Ways to Love: Prologue in 1996. The EP charted at number nine on the Finnish Singles Chart, and in 1997, the band, sans Oki, released their debut album Greatest Lovesongs Vol. 666, which was certified gold and later platinum in Finland. In 2000, now with drummer Mika "Gas Lipstick" Karppinen and keyboardist Juska Salminen, the band released the album Razorblade Romance, which was certified double platinum in Finland, triple gold in Germany and gold in Austria. Its first single, "Join Me in Death", also charted at number-one in Finland and Germany, eventually going platinum in their home country and gold in Germany and Austria. Following the addition of Janne "Burton" Puurtinen on keyboards, HIM released Deep Shadows and Brilliant Highlights and Love Metal in 2001 and 2003 respectively. Both were certified platinum in Finland, as well as gold in Austria and Germany respectively.

Vääpeli Körmy is a character played by famed Finnish comedian Heikki Kinnunen in a series of five Finnish comedies released between 1990 and 1997, as well as in a cameo appearance in Uuno Turhapuro herra Helsingin herra. The films each parody aspects of the Finnish Defense Forces but also Finland's international relations, its presidents and various political and social aspects of Finnish life.
