The San Leandro Tech Campus is a business park being constructed by Westlake Development Partners LLC in downtown San Leandro, California, near the San Leandro BART station. Construction of Phase 1 of the project began in 2014, and was completed in 2016. [1] The primary tenant of the first phase of construction is OSIsoft, a software company based in San Leandro. [2] Phase 2 of the project is expected to be completed in 2019 with Ghirardelli Chocolate Company as the lead tenant. [3]

The site is the permanent location for the sculpture Truth is Beauty by Marco Cochrane. The sculpture generated some controversy, as it is a large (55 ft (17 m) tall) nude outdoor sculpture, albeit on private property. [4] [5] [6]

Truth is Beauty, is a 55-foot (17 m) sculpture by Marco Cochrane. The sculpture is lit from the inside by more than 3,000 LED lights. It is part of a series of three large-scale steel sculptures of nude women by Cochrane, Bliss Dance (2010), Truth is Beauty (2013) and R-Evolution (2015). It was first exhibited at the 2013 Burning Man, then the Las Vegas Strip, and is now at permanent display at the San Leandro Tech Campus in California.

It opened on January 14, 1939 as a train station and was converted into a bus depot in 1959. The terminal mainly served San Francisco's downtown and Financial District, as transportation from surrounding communities of the Bay Area terminated there such as: Golden Gate Transit buses from Marin County, AC Transit buses from the East Bay, and SamTrans buses from San Mateo County. Long-distance buses from beyond the Bay Area such as Greyhound and Amtrak also served the terminal. Several bus lines of the San Francisco Municipal Railway connected with the terminal.

In 2007, the School District bought land for a new building to house the freshman class to relieve overcrowding at SLHS. This move has met with some opposition due to the separation of the freshman class from the rest of the school. The freshman campus is named the "Fred T. Korematsu Campus", after civil rights activist Fred Korematsu who had significant connections to San Leandro.
