Sandhills Horticultural Gardens (27 acres) are gardens and natural areas located on the campus of Sandhills Community College, 3395 Airport Road, Pinehurst, North Carolina, in the United States. They are open to the public daily without charge.

The gardens include a formal garden in the English style, collections of conifers and holly, a native wetland trail, a fruit and vegetable garden, roses, azaleas, rhododendrons, and a xeriscape devoted to cacti, yuccas, and other succulents.

Windblow is an unincorporated crossroads community on the border of Montgomery and Richmond counties, North Carolina, United States. Located at the intersection of North Carolina Highway 73 and NC State Road 1003, Windblow is an agricultural community. Windblow is noted for its peach production; it is the namesake for the Winblo variety of peach. This particular peach, and many others, was developed at the Sandhills Research Station, a facility operated by North Carolina State University, one mile north of the crossroads. The community has a small grocery store and a trucking business in addition to the area farms.

The 1972 Titleholders Championship was contested from May 26–29 at Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club in Southern Pines, North Carolina. It was the 28th and final edition of the Titleholders Championship, following a six-year hiatus. It was the only edition not played at the Augusta Country Club.
