Sandra Sysojeva (born 8 November 1983 in Vilnius, Lithuania) is a Lithuanian born Polish equestrian. [1] Sysojeva competed under the Lithuanian flag until 2023 and switched nationality in 2024 to be able to compete at the Olympic Games. [2]
Sysojeva represented the Polish dressage team at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, which was her first Olympic appearance. She made it to the individual final, finishing 15th in the Grand Prix Freestyle with the highest result ever for a Polish dressage rider, scoring 80.075%. [3]
Equestrian sports were first included in the Olympic Games in the Summer Olympics of 1900 in Paris. They were again included in 1912, and have been included in every subsequent edition of the Games. Currently, the Olympic equestrian disciplines are dressage, eventing, and show jumping. In each discipline, both individual and team medals are awarded. Since the XV Olympiad in Helsinki in 1952, women and men compete on equal terms.

Emma Kanerva is a Finnish dressage rider. She represented Finland in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, finishing 22nd. She also competed at the World Equestrian Games in 2010 and 2018. Kanerva represented Finland five times during the European Championships in 2011, 2013, 2015, 2021 and 2023.
Zaneta Skowronska is a Polish dressage rider. Representing Poland, she competed at two World Equestrian Games and at four European Dressage Championships.
Morgan Barbançon Mestre is a French and Spanish Olympic dressage rider. Representing Spain, she competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London where she finished 7th in team competition and 23rd in the individual competition.
Sönke Rothenberger is a German Olympic equestrian. He represented his country at the 2016 Summer Olympics, where he finished in 19th place in the individual dressage competition. He was also part of the German dressage team which won the gold medal in the team dressage competition. In 2024 he was the first traveling reserve for the German dressage team at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour is a Danish Olympic dressage horse rider. Representing Denmark, she competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro where she finished 13th in the individual and 6th in the team competition. At the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, she finished 4th in both the individual and team dressage events.
Daniel Bachmann Andersen is a Danish Olympic equestrian athlete. He competed at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon 2018 and at the European Dressage Championships in 2015 and 2019. He represented the Danish team at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, winning a silver medal in the team competition and placed 7th in the individual freestyle.
Patricia Ferrando is an Italian and Venezuelan Olympic dressage rider. She competed at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima where she became 12th in the finals and at the 2015 Pan-American Games in Toronto. She won a golden team medal at the 2009 Bolivarian Games, with the Venezuelan team. She is currently the most successful dressage rider from Venezuela.
Chris von Martels is a Canadian equestrian athlete. He won team silver and individual bronze at the 2015 Pan-American Games in Toronto. Von Martels represented Canada at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, finishing 39th in the individual competition.
Simone Pearce is an Australian equestrian athlete. She competed at several World Championships for Young Dressage Horses and holds currently the Australian dressage records in the Grand Prix, Grand Prix Special and Grand Prix Freestyle. Pearce represented Australia at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, where she finished 36th in the individual competition with Destano. She also represented the Australian team at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, finishing 10th with the Australian team.
Carina Cassøe Krüth is a Danish equestrian athlete. Cassøe Krüth competed at several World Championships for Young Dressage Horses. In 2018 she became 4th in the seven years old final with Heiline's Danciera. One year later she made her international debut in the international Grand Prix with the black mare, but in 2020 they made their breakthrough in international dressage by scoring over the 80%.
Dinja van Liere is a Dutch dressage rider. She competed at the European Dressage Championships in Hagen 2021 and was the traveling reserve for the Dutch team at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Poland competed at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris from 26 July to 11 August 2024, celebrating the centenary of the team's debut in the same venue. The equestrian events at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris were run from 27 July to 6 August at the Palace of Versailles, featuring 200 riders across three disciplines for both individual and team competitions, namely dressage, eventing, and jumping. Men and women compete together on equal terms.
