Santa Jaws is a 2018 American Christmas horror comedy film written by Jake Kiernan, directed by Misty Talley and starring Reid Miller and Miles Doleac. [1]
Trying not to spend time with his family during Christmas, Cody makes a wish by drawing a shark wearing a Santa Claus hat, until the animal manifests itself and starts killing the local population.
The film premiered on Syfy on August 15, 2018. [3] The film was also released in the Surfside Playhouse in Surfside, Florida on December 10, 2021. [4]
Chris Coffell of Bloody Disgusting awarded the film three "skulls" out of five, saying: "i’ve watched a lot of shark movies too, so when I heard that a movie called Santa Jaws was premiering on SyFy, well, I was obligated to tune in. Now I love Christmas horror and shark films, and there are some great titles from both of those categories." [5]
Matt Bettinelli-Olpin is an American director, writer, actor, and musician. He is a founding member of the punk band Link 80 and co-creator of the filmmaking collectives Chad, Matt & Rob and Radio Silence. He is best known for his work in horror films, including V/H/S, Southbound, Ready or Not, Scream, Scream VI and Abigail.
Daniel James Roebuck is an American actor and writer. In film, he is known for his roles as Deputy Marshal Robert Biggs in The Fugitive (1993) and its spin-off U.S. Marshals (1998), as well as Mr. Banks in Agent Cody Banks (2003) and Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London (2004). He has appeared in numerous Rob Zombie-directed films, his roles including Morris Green in The Devil's Rejects (2005),The Haunted World of El Superbeasto (2009), and 3 from Hell (2019); Lou Martini in Halloween (2007) and Halloween II (2009); and The Count in The Munsters (2022). Roebuck has worked with director and producer Don Coscarelli, appearing in Bubba Ho-Tep (2002), John Dies at the End (2012), and Phantasm: Ravager (2016).
Sharknado is a 2013 American made-for-television science fiction comedy disaster film directed by Anthony C. Ferrante. It tells about a waterspout that lifts sharks out of the ocean and deposits them in Los Angeles. It is the first installment in the Sharknado film series. The movie first aired on the Syfy channel on July 11, 2013, and stars Tara Reid, Ian Ziering, and John Heard. It was also given a one-night-only special midnight theatrical screening via Regal Cinemas and Fathom Events, where it earned $200,000 from 200 screenings. The over-the-top premise and theatrics of the film quickly earned it a cult following.
